On a blow back marker, when the bolt moves forward does it force the cup seal forward letting CO2/N2 through the Valve? I think the answer is yes.

If the answer is yes why bother having a cup seal? Why not just have the (Actual part name unknown to lord delta) Thing below the bolt make direct contact with the valve? Would the sudden contact between the two pieces damage them? Plus if it worked this way wouldn't people with low pressure guns like it better because that metal pin wouldn't be obstructing the flow of gas through the valve?

I hope I posted in the right forum, my question sort of became long winded and changed subject slightly. I think it could fit in either general or air.

Thanks for any answers you have !

Because the way it works, is that the hammer hits the valve which opens it. It does not push something that hits something and then hits the valve, it's already a direct contact. If you took anything out from the valve, it would not seal. Like if you took out the cup seal flow would be unrestricted through the bolt. And if you took out the poppet (part that gets hit by the hammer) there would be nothing to seal the valve, and again it would flow freely. See, the poppet seals off the valve, and when it is moved out of alignment, the seal is broken. Therefore you cant take it out.

My apologies for the poor grammer, it's been a long day and I'm just not thinking clearly

Well I suppose if you extended the poppit and fused it to the hammer, there wouldn't be an "striking", but I think it would change the entire timing. So you'd have to change the spring streght, lenght etc... intersting idea though. Maybe we should delete this thread and go into business. :P

Then it becomes similar to a spool valve
