At least I hope this is a legitimate question. I've looked for the reason, and can't seem to find it, so maybe someone here can help me.

I just got my 14" Lapco Bigshot today, and while I had read in the reviews that regular barrel plugs don't fit in it b/c the end flares out, I thought it was a gradual flare. Now I have a dropoff of about 1mm or less at the end of my barrel staring at me. Why? I've heard great things about this barrel (why I ordered it  ) but I'm still wondering if this is going to affect my shots in anyway, or at least an explanation for why it does this. Thanks for any ideas that might come up.

I have the 12" Lapco Big Shot and my barrel also has the step at the end of the barrel. I have shot this barrel a few times and it shoots straight. I don't think that the step makes a difference but I may be wrong. This barrel was a huge improvement over the stock 98c barrel.

At that point, the barrel isn't affecting accuracy, but quieting the shot.

Hehe, if it's trying to quiet the shot, they should've made it a bit deeper. I just went outside and shot it out into the field, and wow...I've used a CMI Thunderpig that was a large improvement over stock, but this thing is...unreal.

Oh, does this thing need an O-Ring? My stock barrel had one on it, and so did the thunderpig, but this came w/o one. Just the threads and what looks like a separation for a ring, but it screws on tight and shoots fine, but do I need one to save on air?

Nope, I don't think so.

wow tuelfel is right again:D, they don't need the o-ring because as Caleb has told me it just helps seal it thatmuch better, there are some barrels that have the o-ring on them already u can take it off but it won't be as good of a seal. If you want an o-ring, take it off the stock barrel, if the stock barrel doesn't have it, then you don't need it.
