What is a good length for a gun? What is too long? Feel free to post some pics.

Shockers a way big, but why do people use 'em? Because they're consistant, and accurate.
Automags are small, but why do people use 'em? I'm not quite sure of that one, check back later ;)
Really, it's all about how you feel with the gun. If you wanna play front with a shocker, go ahead! Pick the gun you feel most comfertable with!

Its all you opinion. A short gun to someone else could be considered a long gun to you. You get what I mean?

Do you think its too long?
Personally, I wouldnt want anything near a 3' gun. But, if you can handle it, and it doenst bother you to be that long, go for it.

It also has to depend on what type of games you will be playing in. I wouldn't recommend long guns for speedball play, but they are fine in rec-ball. You have to realize that a long gun will keep you from being very effective behind bunkers.
Longer barrels don't always mean better accuracy. Once a barrel extends beyond 12-14" it actually impairs the shot performance. I hear about guys toting around 18" barrels, which is rediculous in my opinion.
Instead of getting a super-long barrel, get a 12-14" along with a stock. The stock will help improve accuracy much more than a longer barrel would.

i was thinking of getting a 16" and using my tank as a stock. Should I get a 16" or a 14"

i think anything over 14 in. won't be beneficial to your gun. It will cause drag, and it is cumbersome to carry a barrel that long around..
long barrels :P theres only so much you need but 14 in. is defently going over!

I think I will go for a 14". My friend is getting a 20" for his autococker. I thought that was way too big.

What kind of gun do you have? Just curious becuase you would probably want to use shorter barrel lengths on certain types of guns. ie. M98's are super long with a 14 inch barrel and 20 ounce tank compared to a Spyder compact with the same barrel and tank. Auto Mags are another gun that people usually keep a short barrel on becuase one of the great things about them is their light weight, and compact design.
The measurements for my M98 with a 20 ounce PMI Pure energy tank with diff barrels and w/wo Psycho ballistic 7.75 inch drop forward.
M98 with stock barrel and no drop forward. 29 inches
M98 with stock barrel and PB drop forward. 24 inches
M98 with 14inch dye excel and no
drop forward. 34.5 inches
M98 with 14inch dye excel and PB
drop forward. 29.5 inches

I have a compact 2000. I'm going to use the tank as a stock. get a butt plate. and I was going to use a 16" barrel. But I don't know anymore.

Personally my favorite length of barrel is 12 inches. The only reason I have a 14 inch barrel is becuase the store was out of 12 inch barrels and didnt know when they would be getting more and I was wanting for the following weekend. You won't notice a difference between 14 and 16 inch barrels, and alot the the more popular barrels dont even come in sizes over 14 inches. From what i've noticed the length of the barrel usually doesn't bother people as much as the length of the tank.

This is what my friend has on his TL, Dragon Series 2-Piece, 14Inch, Spyder 119.99 IIsports.com . He got it two weeks ago and it is REAL REAL REAL accurate and very quite. It did not seem long to me.

I think taht it depends what you are using your gun for. If you are going to be a runner going right up to the front and attacking, you would want a shorter gun. If you are going to hold back and snipe off people, then you want a long gun

I am using a 12" and a 14" barrel with good results. 16" seems to just get in my way.
