Just got a used one that does not work. It was supposed to have a small leak and a cycling problem, but I have checked it over and the reg threads are completely stripped. So it needs a new rear housing.:pissed: I wont be able to get the parts for it in time to use it before I go to boot camp so I am putting its repair on hold :( It sucks, I was really looking forward to getting it running.
Having looked it over and checked it out though, I am really impressed with the design. Manually rotating the clip feed mechanism causes the paint balls to pop right out of the clip and the internal cocking mechanism reminds me of an autocker in how it functions. I cant wait to try this thing out once it is fixed. Full auto goodness.:)

I was thinking, and I realized that I didn't now what bore size is the AT barrel, and I would appreciate if somebody would tell me.

I own an AT-10 which is internally identical (6 in barrel, shortened reciever). It is the only non-electronic F/A that is still in production. Hard to get upgrades for but comes pretty good stock. There are very specific instructions for doing things like gassing it up and resetting so you have to pay attention. Also requires constant maintenance. Other than that it is fairly accurate (new models have a sizer which automatically adjusts to the ball caliber), fast, and almost impossible to chop balls with. Oh yeah, the techies there are great. Anything else you wanna know just ask.
Mod wise I've seen people do some trigger stuff. I have a screw in mine which acts as a block. BOA makes barrels for the AT series... I also modified my clip slightly to feed certain brand (Diablo, mostly) balls when they were getting stuck there before.
I don't know what the barrel bore is but it does have a sizer that fits the ball perfectly (or a sizer kit if you have an old gun). Remember when the ball starts moving it will make a perfect seal due to expansion so you just have to make sure that there is a good seal at the back of the barrel (hence the sizer). The sizer insures that the ball "gets off to a good start".

How does the accuracy of the ATS 85 compare to an autococker:confused: ?. I am having a second thought on the AT:confused:

i've got an AT-10 also. As for accuracy, it's probably just as good as or better than an autococker. (Not to say autocockers have bad accuracy cause they dont) plus a 16in barrel is only 60 bucks.
Where as a good autococker barrel is a lot more, correct?

PCRI did a test a few years back, and they determined that the AT-85 was more accurate than Autocockers. I haven't been able to find those results in some time, but the AT was first in accuracy and the Cocker second. At least it demonstrates that the AT is very accurate, from a respected authority in paintball testing, no less. It's also a heck of a lot of fun. The barrel on all ATS markers are medium bore. Also, they make what's called a unisizer, which allows you to use a wide variety of paintballs. Email me if you have any questions about that.
As for you, Magadeth, I feel your pain. The thing about the AT is that the user must know and understand the operation of the gun. It's possible (and likely) that the owner before you didn't appreciate the gun's design and messed it up big time. If you ever get your hands on a new one, you'll be shocked as to how well it works.
We carry the ATS lineup, and we're working on an improved presentation of their products. Soon, we'll have video footage of the AT firing, cheap package deals, and interactive shopping features that will allow our customers to build their own "ideal" AT. I'm really looking forward to it, as us AT fans have got to stick together. I'll let you all know once we finish the updates.
Take Care

I have fired both the at-10 and a 2k2 autococker both are pretty acurate but i would say the stock at-10 is more acurate than the autococker but you can get the autocoker more acurate
