I have some friends on the P & L Hurricanes that'll be there, playing X-Ball (Shout out to Mo and Church) and the paintball manager at the store/field I work at is going down, all expenses paid.:) The owner of the store will be giving him some blank checks to pick the store/field up some nice goodies. (He'll be picking me up some stuff too:D )

I might go, but if I do it'll be on the 18th and 19th instead of the 25th and 26th. It's my Dad's weekend and I don't think he'll let me go because I haven't been to his house in a few weeks and he'll probably want to just stay at home or something.

I second San Antonio. Good vacation travel, and GREAT business conference location. What does that all mean? Fun stuff to do, and nice and plentiful hotels. Do finals in the Alamodome a la skyball style. :)

Also, the weather here in October is beautiful!

Oh yeah, and lots of large open flat land to host it!

Dude... it's freakin' paintball. That is why you're there. MAYBE one attraction for a day to keep some of the spectators busy. But you can't do Disney World in a day. You can do Six Flags: Fiesta Texas though. :)

Other than that, all you need are good hotels (plenty in SA) and good eats. (plenty in SA) It's Texas we got steak and Tex-Mex in addition to the normal stuff. (actually, there are a few real Mexican places in SA... try to get that in Orlando.) Also, because it's in a state where people are actually under 75 (and has a few colleges nearby) that means there are some real bars. (Austin and Dallas still beat SA there though :|) Anyway, what do you think a bunch of paintball players want to hang out at night when there isn't paintball? Disney World where everything closes after the 12am firework show? Or bars getting drunk with hot college co-eds? Hmm... I wonder :rolleyes:

World Cup used to be held in NY, I wish it would come back.:(

When I was younger, my Dad took me to a huge construction equipment auction in a huge cow field in Kissimmee. While I was driving around a golf cart, and my dad was looking at the stuff for sale, I noticed a ton of white, puffy balls laying on the ground, but I had no clue what they were. (I thought they were might be some kind of mushrooms or maybe something the cows left behind in their poo.)

Anyway, about 2 years ago, I saw a pic of the World Cup layout, and a description of where they held it, and I came to the realization that at the time, I was driving a golf cart through the field used for the legendary World Cup. I felt so special :cool: :P

Are they holding the whole competition at Disney? or just XBALL?

hehe, yup your right. The time you were there it was the time for Trucks Auctions, and now its still a cow field, but this year WC wont be held there in the cow field in Kissimmee, rather Its Dinsney's World Wide of Sports. X Ball is included and all.

no offense but i think orlando is the perfect spot for the world cup

if a 16 year old wants to go to the cup and lives in a place like michigan(sp?) do you think his parents would want to go to san antonio or orlando

orlando because the whol family can enjoy it there

you could drive down to cocoa beach(about an hour or an hour and a half)

and there is PLENTY of hotels in orlando :)

and six feet under: you dont like all the old people?

why not? i love florida except when you have to drive
you will end up going 30 on a 60 mph highway :(

So, the ONLY part of that that warrants discussion is the original topic, the world cup in Orlando (as you told us a few times), and who all is going.

My discussion points...

I am NOT going because it is in Orlando. Were it closer to home... say? SA I would go. That is my comment, which in turn led to further comments on my comment. Orlando also has the disadvantage of being in a corner of the country. Were it say... in a more central location, then more people would be able to answer your original topic question in the affirmative. Were it in SA, then all the people on the East coast would have further to go... but everyone else would be closer.

Anyway, it all seems to flow from the original question and is really just a different form of the original question. "Are you going to World Cup in Orlando?" "If World Cup were in SA would you be more or less likely to go?"

But alas, you want your topic to only be about Orlando. So here is my entire discussion about your question "Are you going to Orlando?"

No.

Less briefly... I would prefer never to go to Orlando ever again. It is an awful evil place. :)

you could ask your teachers for a list of all the work you will have to make up for the time you will miss and do that & see if you can stay after school when you get back to take any tests you miss

Right now, I doubt I will be able to go to the WC, but if you see a huge white kid with small glasses and his name is McKenzie and he's from Boca Raton, punch him in the ribs for me and remind him to buy me some paintballs.

I should be going to that other tournament going on in Miami in November, except not the 8th, because I have homecoming then.

My sister has had turments there and the managment sucks it's a half a mile to the back of the park and theh concesion stand is a rip. i still might go just to see paintball though

OK, its my fault After looking at the pics I took yes OLN was there, they are begginin' to tape the finals for 5 man, so my predictions are that they will air it on OLN after World Cup, nothing Live, but they will show a couple games and gear, and hopefully more games, than commercials.

This years Gear really sucks, all the companies are copying each other. Empire has the same pants as other pants. JT, DYE, all of them, even WDp wants me to pay 100.00 dollars for a pair of Raven pants wanna bee's. AS for the guns, they are all the same, the new Dye gun is fast but itsn't quiet its just like a normal high end electro. I though the DYE Pants were gonna be cheap. BUt I guessed wrong 50.00 dollars when the new came out. Thats crazy. Plus all the companies have t-shirts all the same, and expect me to pay 15.00 bones. They are crazy. As for ICd and thier new gun. No new gun. Only the B2K3's B2K's and the BKO's.

The "man god" just got back from the cup. It was incredibly awesome. I spent to much money though.

Excal, I did pick up some of those JT pants for 20.00. It was an awesome deal. I also got the guy to give me a sock hat for 5 bucks. :)

I also picked up a Z-board for Radishboy and me. It's awesome... 21.5 bps.

I met Six Feet Under and schooled him in the Halo tent. He's the only guy from PBreview I saw. :|

The Smarts Parts tent was awesome... They had contest and gave away a bunch of crap. Over the weekend they gave away 3 Imps (2 rats and a nasty I believe).

And the games were awesome. Good times. I have a bunch of pictures, I'll try to get some on here...

It's November 7th to 9th, I think... I won't be there the 8th, I have Homecoming, but I don't think I want to go anymore, because my boyfriend has ROTC competition on the same day and I don't want another guy's arms around me. :(

Did you see my friend McKenzie at the cup? He's suppose to bring me back paintballs and stickers. If he didn't, I'm going to bite him.

I heard everything in general was expensive. The manager of the proshop where I work went down to make some deals for our store/field, and he said he would ask for like free stickers and stuff, and they would give him like one. On the other hand, I went to NPPL NJ and they gave me a ton of stickers, no matter what. Also, some of my friends went down 2 years ago, and they came back with bags and bags of free stuff. (stickers, cds, tshirts, etc.)

Sodas 3 bucks.

Its all disney's fault, damn them. Hot Dogs were like 4.75 hella expensive plus they were selling thier own t-shirts for like 18.00 dollars. This Year I played and had Tons of Fun and walked out with a couple Free Stuff, last yr I played Had Fun and walked out with Sh load of free stuff from Stickers, to t-shirts- to Paintballs By ZAP lets say a months worth of paintballs. For Free. Rather than that. I got some pics done, a person helped me out by hosting the pics my friend took these but there are still more pics to host.

That's because there's no tax on food in Florida (I think)

And yes, we do pay a state tax. Otherwise when you buy a $14.88 box of paint from wal-mart it would actually be $14.88, not $15.92 or something like that. Some things have 7% sales tax, others have 6%. I think so anyways.:confused: :eyes:
