View Full Version : When is "Paintball Season"???
I just got my field open at the end of September...and here in Washington its pretty wet out right now. Do most paintballers like to play in the spring and summer?? Do most fields close down in the winter time??
thanks,

Paintball is an allyea round sport for the exception of tourneys outdoor:rolleyes: , Thast why they have indoor speedball fields and hyper-ball and more indoors for winter tourney players...Woodsball all year round for outdoors:) , Thats whats great about paintball;) Most fields will not close, well actuallly i'm not sure:confused: :P

depends on the area if you get the most people playing. if its hot and humid like someones crotch out in the summer like it is here in rhode island every damn day of the summer then youll get an avg turn out. and then in the winter its very cold so my field closes down(since its outdoors) and the best time to play i think is around this time where its decently cool/cold out and in the spring occasionally those are my favorite times because of the aforementioned reasons and because there arent as many ticks and crap out.
however most indoors fields stay open all year. (i just wish the ones around here besides boston paintball would be heated)

I think it's fun playing in the winter. We actually play more in the winter here, because we're either working or at the beach everyday in the summer.

my feild is open all year round. Its actually fun to play in the snow. behind every bunker there is like this hole thats fun to sit in. its also fun to slide in the snow. Its not open as much, b/c most people dont realize that you can still play in the snow. Either that or they are pansies that dont want to get cold.

My field here in MA stays open year round and its outdoors, nothing like shooting people in 3 feet of snow in the woods, paintball season is everyday, air up and go

Usually p ball goes all year unless the temp is below freezing. I played in freezing weather one time and the paint was so hard it wouldn't break. Not fun, unless your not the one getting hit!

We already said we play in the winter, so....If it goes below freezing use winter paint.
Right on...thanks guys.
Since my field just opened, I guess people aren't showing up because they just don't know about it. I think that if I can stay open through the winter that next spring/summer will be great!
thanks again for yer input

What about the co2? wouldn't it freeze, how cold should it be for my co2 to freeze?

Paintball season is when all the mommy and daddy paintballs get together, then the company reps from PMI, BE, and Diablo go and capture them. BE tends to be rough with them, so that's why the little paintballs go bad.

It' wont ever freeze from temps found in habitable places, trust me, it will get cold and liquid but never become a solid.
ok anyways if you want to avoid co2 probs in cold eather just use HPA, so much more reliable I made the switch mid-winter cause I was tired of gun trouble

In winter, I cover my co2 tank with socks, lots of socks:D

I hope you don't do that right after you get a fill, then it just acts as athermos and keeps the cold in, I learned that from my local tech because i had a tank cover on my 20 oz and he was like sweet thermos kid, keeping it cold? we had a laugh and i confidently took it off..... what happened to that damn thing?

In San Diego the season is Jan. 1st through Dec. 31st. If your using electric markers then avoid usuing them on rainy days (duh!). Temps rarely fall below 40 and the last time it snowed was like 40 years ago (not counting the mountains).

March-November is the general tourney season around here. And thats all I play unless I go indoor. Playing in the snow is for suckers.

Sucker.
March - November sounds pretty good to me...sucks in the cold snow. People say to wear warmer clothes...but that sucks because the paint doesn't break as good when you have a multiple layers of clothing or a parka (*spell?)

hit 'em in the mask, that'll always break, right in the gogs
snow is fun to play in when you have HPA and a relaible gun, cause then you can rush when everyone else is squeegeeing or fixing their jammed guns or just flat out can't see past that cloud of co2 they're spewing until it's too late, :paranoid:

For me, I play every Sunday between January and November.
December is my month off. I start playing again the weekend before Christmas break is over
