with it only being a few days before i order the compact 2000 java ed. (and my first gun) is there anything i sould know about it? Like a faulty o ring, good upgrades, taking care of it,etc. Just anything in general before i buy it. I promise you this is the last of my compact questions (until i go break it :))

I have one, mines not java edition though. I would suggest that you get a new barrel and if the gun doesn't have one, get a bottom line. But this is my opinion. I've had mine for about a year. Didn't get to play with it much though. You try it out and figuare what you want.

OIL IT. These guns come dry as a bone generally. Oil your gun before ever playing with it. Other than that the first 2 upgrades you'll probably want for it are a bottom line and a new barrel. Good luck and have fun with your spyder :)

Well,I have a compact. Its a pretty good gun. I got mine for like $99. It shoots very well. Ive added Bob long bolt, x-pansion chamber, PMI drop forward, rear thumb adjuster, Beaver tail sights, and soon a new barrel. I think it is a great gun to upgrade. Go for it!!

You should definitely get a bottomline kit for the compact, get a new barrell, and get the spyder special edition upgrade package for the compact. New bolt, bottomline, hardline, expansion chamber and I think a new bolt for only 50 bucks!!

I have the compact and have to say you have to oil it if you dont oil the first time your bolt gets all scratched up
