I want to get a new valve/springs for my marker to lower my pressure.......
which valve do you guys think I should get...
rat?
rocket?
bob long?

or any other....also which spring kit should I get for it ....

I, too was wondering the same question. Im looking into the tornao valve. :eyes:

Leave your springs as they are, all you need is a higher flow valve and perhaps a better, LP inline reg. Regs I suggest, a Maxflow if you can afford it, a Gen-x 2 next and then a Stabalizer/Vigilante. To LP your gun, you MUST have a high flow valve. The Tornado valve is the best, flat out. Also, you need to remove your inline reg and make sure that your CA has TWO air inlet holes, if there is only one, get a machinest to drill out the second one. I repeat, there is no need to change the springs, only the valve and perhaps the inline reg. Anyone who disagrees doesn't know anything but cocker folk myth.

well I have heard alot about the "rocket valve" and how high flow it is and was wondering if anyone is using this valve or has heard anything good or bad about it.....

70 bucks for the Tornado valve is just ridiculous and out of the question....

Hey dasbalddog is a gladiator reg good?

$70 IS out of the question unless you are talking about the BEST valve on the market, which we ARE.

The Gladiator Regs are VERY good but hard to obtain.

I guess I dont know anything about cockers cuz theres no way I can agree with you not changing valve springs. A lighter valve springs allow the hammer to open the valve longer which aloows for a more volume flow(High volume = low pressure) Most aftermarket valve kits come with springs for use with the valve. Im puzzled on why you would say this.

You would only need the lighter springs on a STANDARD valve. THink about it, if you have a higher flow valve, you can get a larger amount of air with the same amount of valve open time.

It would work, just not to its "LP" potential. It would still more PSI than needed to open the valve for adiquite velocity. You said dont "have" to change springs with a new valve, in order to achieve real "LP" psi you do "have" too. However, you dont "need" too for it to work.

well the principal thought on LP is to have as much air pass through at the fastest speed at the lowest pressure to reach velocity wanted...

so you would want your valve open for the shortest time....but a lot of air to pass....

oh one more thing....you want it to be efficent also....don't want to run at 150 psi.....and get only 500 shoots out of a 114ci tank....

My reg on my sto is MESSED up big time. The thing is stripped in one inlet, and where you screw it into the gun the thereds are bent, and I CAN NOT get it off sometimes cause the bottem have unscrews off :pissed:. Anywaz, I waz wondering to if I should get a gen-x 2 inline, or the tornado? I'm kinda aming for the gen-x2, bcause im pissed at myself for screwing this one up. I will NOT use plyers on my cocker AGIN. Thanks for reading my totally pointless post. :pissed:

The question is, if I understand correctly, SHould I buy an expensive inline regulator or an expensive valve? I'm confused in how you formed a relation between the two choices.

well...I would opt for a better reg...if your using the stock one.....because with a new valve used to lower your pressure.....you will need a better reg...and more than likely a low pressure chamber

then go for the valve.....with that you will need to get a valve tool to get the old one out and the new one in....FYI......unless you take it to the shop and have them do it....(not worth it...do it yourself)

Has anyone heard of or had any experience with the ANS "Extreme Flow Valve?" Is it any good? How's the flow? How does it compare to other valves?

a quote from Ravi's page....thats all I can tell you is what I read there....and it was this....

"ANS valve
ANS' valve is a pretty standard turbo-style valve design, but knocks off the RAT II cup-seal design of
placing the seal in the valve body. I haven't had a chance to test it yet except in the ANS Gen-X
Autococker where it gave approximately stock valve performance."

here's the link....he talks about other valves there too....

So... It's only as good as the stock valve? That's kinda a waste of money...

I thought so....

I talked to G3P about the rocket valve..that's the one I ended up ordering(it's valve spring is behind the valve stem as opposed to in front of it)..

He said that it will lower my pressure quite a bit..he also said that to go really low pressure I would have to have the valve chamber bored out....

the Rat 3:16 is also a good high flow valve....thats not 70 bucks...

Unless money is no object to you...

Then go for the Tornado valve....
