Various guns need differant types of oil...
Some guns like Shockers use Dow 33 Lube, not sure if it's required, however, it tends to be what most prefer.
Tippmann recomends Hopps 9, which also happens to be what I use for all of my markers. It works well in all playing temperatures and doesn't gunk up or get blackish.
Theres something in some kinds of oil that eats away at orings. Cant remember exactly what it is though, do i search in the spyder forum i know youll find the answer in there.

some people will get all technical and tell ya that certain petrolium based lubricants are bad for your gun(rem lube, hoppes9), but really, you won't notice that much of a difference. In any case, it is best just to stick with good old gold cup paintball oil;)

Good. And I wouldn't use any gun oil except Hoppes 9 and maybe some others. Most gun oil gets all gummy in your gun and will eat your o-rings away.

3 in 1 works, if you're getting your oil from a gun shop, get some REMington Oil. You can use it on the outside of the gun as well, makes it look puuuuuuuuurty:D

Dow 33 is what I use, but that silicon grease. It also gets old and needs to be cleaned, so I'd say gold cup. My friend uses gun oil though, and it seems to work. Wouldn't recomend it.
