Length really depends on the player and his position. So its your choice..but i will give you some info on the porting.
The 14" has the same amount of porting as the 12".. So if you get the 14" over teh 12" it will NOT be quieter or more ported. It will perform the same as the 12" but it will have an extra 2 inches that will either 1) get in the way (speedball) 2) have the option to poke through brush (woods)
So the decision between the 14" and 12" is really, "Do you mostly play speedball or woods? In the woods, is there brush where you will have to have a little bit longer barrel so you can stick it through the trees, plants, etc?
Now the 10" has slightly less porting than the 12" i think. (Correct me if im wrong, but I believe it has like no more then 5-6 port holes or less then the 12")
The decision between the 10" and 12", should be your choice. Do you ONLY play speedball? Or do you also play on some longer fields?
But length is a pretty important decision that can only be decided on the player. It might also help you if you try all 3 lengths and see which one you can aim with better. One of my teammates that plays front w/ me CANNOT snapshoot or aim w/ a 10", so he just got a 12".. Doesn't make much difference to him on the size, but the aiming sure does. Now me, i can aim just fine w/ a 10", so i have a 10" barrel because i play front and it gives me some extra room.
So just borrow someones barrel for a round and see how you can aim w/ it.
Good Luck :D

BTW, i voted for 12" because i believe it is the best all-around length.
Dont feel like you have to get whatever length wins on the poll..its your decision.
