ok ok... omen are a 100 dollars more expensive... but is it that much better? ... THE TES has antichop eye.. which makes it equivalent to the lack of chopping.. or actually no chopping... but its a blow back.. would i have trouble regulating the gas pressure.. as time progresses..and the gun goes through wear...i know how blowbacks are...they tend to break down alot.. really hard to regulate and has many leak problems... is that true as well with the TES?

lets throw this into the mix... DRAGUN VS TES VS a
USED VERT 2k2-2k3 autococker

If this is your friend's first gun or so, then get the Dragun if he doesn't have the money to spend on the Omen. Omens are even better than stock Impulses. Stay away from the Cocker, unless you know about them and don't mind tuning it and stuff.

Conclusion: get the Omen if you can and the Dragun if not. You could also get a Piranha :) .

well, just because its his first gun doenst mean it shouldnt be a nice gun! chances are if he gets a blowback he will just get a nice gun later, costing him more money in the long run! I say get the cocker or omen good sir. you will learn about them some way or another

If you guys noticed he said Dragunfly....M3's version of a Electro cocker.

I got a hcance to shoot the TES last week end. It shot exactly like any spyder yet it did not chop. I was able to only get about 13 bps on it. It seams not to like 2 toned paint...chop chop.

The Dragonfly is a month newer to the market then the Omen, they to have had their share of bugs, but just as the Omen, just about all of them are Ironed out. The Gun seams to shoot great. But you have to remmeber that it is capped at 10 bps, it does not take ALL cocker parts like bolts and barrels, and there is not anti-chop mechinism. I do not care what you say about bolt pressure, the bolt will always kill the ball if the pressure is over 30 psi. The only antichop mechinisms that are from the bolt are the SP mod for the bushy, and the lvl 10 for the mag, those work. ( my viking has a LP bolt, but it can still chop(60 psi))
Oh and it does not come with a reg or any kind of bottem line kit. thats at LEAST another $100

The Omen is a Mix between your adverage Blowback semi, and some higher end thinking. One of the problems people have with Blowback is that they have alot of kick, the Omen reduces this with a Adjustable recock and closed bolt, regulating the pressure used to cock the gun. Chopping is done away with because of the new CAM feed system, which really works.
Something else that is lacking on blowback are nice regs and LP from the Box. he Omen runs at about 200 psi and is one of the most efficiant gun out (1800 from a 68/4500) It's not far of from my viking which gets 2000 of that same tank.
The Reg on the Omen is one of the best regs out today, I have installed it on my viking and have seen not performace loss or gain, so it's dirrectly competeing with the sidewinder and maxflow. The Omen is capped at 15 bps, which is fast enof, and can be upgraded to 25 bps with adjustable debounce for a adtional $50.

If it's a first marker, I would steer clear of a Dragunfly or any cocker. The Dragunfly also won't accept most cocker parts.I

I really don't know a whole lot about the TES but I've heard it's not any different than an E-Spyder except for the no chopping.

If your friend can afford it, I would say the best bet would go with the Omen. True, it's not much more than a closed bolt blowback, but it is soooooo much nicer than any other blowback it's unbelievable. IMO it even outdoes some electropneumatics, such as a stock Impy. The cam feed will prevent any chopping. The thing is so tiny and extremely light. Once it's adjusted (just recock pressure, just an allen screw on the side, no biggie) you will be shooting ropes of paint with little effort. I can get an Omen going much faster, much easier than with a Spyer or Piranha. The stock barrel it comes with is decent.

But as anyone will tell you, have your friend try a few out and see what they like the best, but I think the Omen will come out on top. Just my opinion.
