Recently I have played a few games in some sand pits (Old cars, vegitation islands, and a good 15 foot high outer cliff/hill sourrounding us). We play a combination of speed ball/woods ball. I am concerned of the sand damaging of the markers. There is alot of diving and jumping (at least by me) in large sand cover. Ive been there twice and have had no problems yet, except for a friend dropping his marker after a dive, in which case we packed up and went home to clean it out. Im just worried that this is gonna decrease the life of my marker even if i can't see physical damage.
My marker setup is below if that means anything, the marker that flew into the sand was an extra but doesn't have any dmg, at least visiable after a full clean out/ oil.

Eh...if I were you, I'd find somewhere else to play. If that's not possible, then have some cleaning tools handy whenever you play. Sand isn't the greatest for markers.

Just so you know, the more moving parts you have, the worse it's going to get. My suggestion is if you can't play anywhere else, clean your marker very well after every game, replacing every o-ring, and washing every part. If you do that, you shouldn't have any problems.

Why would he replace every o-ring? Gun o-rings are expensive to replace all the time.

just clean your gun after every game and you won't have any major problems if you are careful

Not the o-rings on the valve and striker, just the other ones. They're cheap... $8 or so for at least 50 o-rings.

What do you mean by "other"?

Bolt o-rings and the tank o-ring. That's not too expensive.

He doesn't need to replace anything if he just checks them and cleans his gun if it gets dirty.

well, just bought 100 tank orings off ebay for 3.50 so that should last a while. I took my bolt orings off and then replaced them after cleaning. All appears good.

LOL. My backup gun for my upgraded 98C is my old Classic 98. All I have to do is move over the parts if I need to.
