I went out and played ball this morning. I was playing at this field that is like two or three acres of land, it was twelve on twelve Anyway, I was obviusoly playing with a bunch of idiots of newbies b/c they set up the dumbest ambush I have ever seen in my life. I'm going to get into the tactical part in a little while, jsut let me explain this. They tried to ambush me and this other guy who had gotten behind the basic lines. The biggest problem was that I could here them moving and heard some whispered. I also could see stomped vegetation and the broken ends were seeping so I knew that it was fresh. Bit give away there. Talking, rustling, and borken branches. I sent my 'spotter' for lack of a better word, in first b/c he had a faster gun and I hung back with my 98 Sniper model. So, six guys bust out and unload. They hit my man but they also sprayed themselves because they attacked from two opposite sides which is a big mistake. Anyway, they shot each other and I ran off and took them b/c afterwards they were dumb enough to go around looking for me.
Okay, so you are probably wondering about the tactical side of this. First off, when planning an ambush, make sure that you have a safety zone of impassible or difficault terrain. If this is not possible, have a back up/overwatch force on the opposite side that is out of marker range so that your teammates cannot hit you. Never attack from opposite sides b/c you can cause a blue on blue encounter. Next, don't talk b/c someone with good hearing will pick that up. Be careful where you step also, don't trample the vegtation b/c I can tell where you are going and I know you are there. Those dummies!
