I have a few questions about upgrades if anybody can help me please do so. My first question is on the double trigger do you need to cut out the grip and if you do is it hard. My next question is about expansion chambers my jj two piece is very accurate except when it drops off and doesnt go as far is this because of the inconsistency of the CO2 and will the expansion chamber help it. My next question is about the rt and the electronic kit ive heard good and bad about both like on the rt ive heard that the hose is cheap and with the electronic kit ive heard that it breaks down very easily if you shoot to fast well if you have anything to say about this please help because im going to put somemore money into my gun and I want to gain information on the upgrades before I spend all that money

If you have a regular m98, yeah you need to do some modifying. If you have a 98 custom, you can just drop in the guard and double trigger. Another good thing is that you can send your old m98 and they will switch it to a custom.. I'm not 100%.. but I think its free! Except shipping I think.
An expansion chamber will help, but it will only prolong the inevitable. Co2 is subject to temperature. So if its really cold, it won't matter if you have and expansion chamber, the improvement won't be by much.
The best is to get an n2 tank. Get preset. You can always use it on another gun.
Another bad thing about c02 is that is severely affects accuracy. C02 has moisture in it. That moisture gets in the barrel and creates wet spots which the paintballs catch on. This puts spin on the balls and you shoot corkscrews... its inevitable. You'll notice that as the day progresses, your accuracy gets worse.
I couldn't say morea bout using compressed air. Its a good investment. You can always use the tank on another gun that you may get later. Better to spend the moneyt on a tank instead of rt or electro. They are both pretty crappy. Way to expensive for what you get.
I recommend a PMI pure energy 68cu 3000 or 4500psi .. very small and light tank. Get a motorized loader and you have a sweet gun. IF you have a double trigger, you could reach 10 bps and not chop because of the motorized loader. Plus you will stay accurate and very consistant running compressed air.
This is my honest best recommendation.

Well, when I installed the double trigger I had to cut the grip a little bit but not really hard.
With a Tippmann 98, there is modification, but with a Tippmann 98 custom, the trigger guard and double trigger are drop in kits, if you get the ones from tippmann. No cutting or modding... its a drop in kit. You take off the left side of the body, replace trigger and guard, then replace removed half.. thats it.

Well, I have a 98 Custom.
Wierd.. my friend didn't have to do anything. He just opened it up and put it in, thats it.

Well, I suppose you don't have to but it would be harder to put the gun back together.

Sorry buddy but you are totaly wrong bout a tippmann and n2.It does basicly nothin cept save the o rings in ur gun(whichis like 12 bucks to replace em all).If you want to go n2 on a tippmann u need the n2 upgrade kit and a reg.Thats 119.99 and a nice fiber waapped 68ci is 179.99.plus if u dont have the n2 lp kit, then co2 is about as good as n2.believe me i tried this on one of my buddys guns w/o the lp kit.It Does Nothing.I would say its a just a little tad better than co2 but not worth 179.99 for the tank and no lp kit cuz it wont do much.it even says this on the tippmann webpage if you dont believe me.As for upgrades i reccomend a Lapco Autosprit 11.5 in .687 bore, which is great to shoot marballizers. Also get a drop forward, such as a Shotec Full, or a KAPP MICRO APOCALYPSE(the one i gonna get). Also getta revvy 12volt,you can move this to your next gun and now the are more improved wit the new x board and poly materal ****.Also getta new full boar rear cocking, keeps noise in and dirt out.PEACE OUT!have fun wit paintball
"Paintballs suppose to be fun not expensive"

See Ya
I've seen tippmans on compressed air. Much better. Compressed air is cleaner and unaffected by temperature or altitude.
Yeah well dispite the 179.00 for a tank, you can always take it with you. Rt or electro stays with the gun. A complete waste.
You don't need an N2 package for the m98 to run off air. Only guns that are liqiud only.. The only gun in existence that runs of liquid C02 is the 68 special.. but I doubt you know what that is.
Preset N2 tanks put out the same pressure as a Co2 tank.
I don't think you know what you are talking about. It doesn't sound like you have any knowledge on compressed air or co2 dynamics.
BTW... who said you could use PBREVIEW's logo? I don't think you asked permission. Do you know what a copyright is?

i have a 98C, double trigger, Expasion chamber, rear cocking sys.
and i have to say that what i got is about the best u can get, now u can get the R/T but my freind had trouble with the searing pin always breaking, same with the electro kit. so if you want a nice semi. gun go with this but if u want a auto.(electro) get a Intimidator.:D

btw....i do no what im talkin bout thank you buddy. And if u want proof not by my word but by tippmanns read here:goto www.tippmann.com,proceed to proshop, then once there click on custom 98 upgrades(words may vary but i think this is the right stuff),then click on Nitrogen Upgrade kit and read under the picture to see what im taliking bout.in these words tippmann says "n2 without the kit is little advantage over co2......."somthin like that.
And by the way i have a problem with my tippmann and i wonder if you could help me.
The elbow on my gun shakes and rattles, then the balls jam.I am gonna getta revvy, but the next prob is that the damn thing wont fit into the elbow.its to freakin loose and it falls out, as do other hoppers.my tippmann hopper fits cuz i hammered the damn thing in but i dont want to do that to my revvy.should i jus call tippmann and have them send me a new one.i gotta warrenty so it should be free right?Well thx 4 help anyway.
And i dont give a **** bout copyright......lol!

ok you need put a few strips of electrical tape between your gun and the elbow
also wrapp abour 4 wraps of electrical tape around the revy those things should snugg everything up for you
aslo i would suggest the Full Boar rear/flush cocking thing at county Paintball for $50
Dude no prob about website. I've been on every paintball site on the internet (almost all anyways).. dude, I know they say that you need to get the N2 kit, but Tippmann's bottomline is sales. The diff between n2 and co2 is that you will not get drop off or velocity spikes..
And with your problem, there are a few things you can do. Firstly, how old is your revy? If you just bought it in the last few years, it is the crappy model and you should exchange it anyways because the old revies would break when struck by a paintball. I witnessed a clean hole put through both sides of a rev hopper indoor with everyone shooting 250. The new revs use much thicker plastic. But this may not solve your problem, as revy necks are unusually small. When VL came out with the rev, it was a different size than regular hoppers (smaller) so a lot of guns have problems.
You could easily get electrical tape and wrap around, or some other tape to make the hopper neck a little thicker..
Or you could take the rev back and get a Rickochet.. The thing comes over sized and its up to you to sand it to the perfect thickness.. my Rickochet fits perfectly.

if you send in your old 98 tippman will send you a custom 98 with an reactive trigger for only $108. good deal i would do it if i could find an old model 98. and could someone tell me how do do a real quote??

As one with a Custom 98 who just purchased the exact tank Flash mentioned above (PMI 3k) I can say he is correct, it makes a definate difference. Took me 4 shots to chrono and my fps varied by only a couple all day long. The difference in accuracy is that you can consistently tell how far your shots will go. With CO2 I found I'd fire a few that would fall in front of someone, modify my aim, and then shoot over people's heads. This past weekend I was able to get at least 2 people out simply because I knew right where my balls would go when I popped out of my bunker. That and even though you supposedly get fewer shots out of an air tank I believe mine lasts longer than my 20oz. My Tippmann seemed to shoot an aweful lot of liquid and I think that really eats up a CO2 tank quickly. Anyways, point being, whatever people may say popping a HPA tank on a Custom 98 as is will definately make a difference. Now whether it's a $200 difference, well I guess that depends on how broke you are, whether the g/f finds out you spent that much on it, and how sick you are of spending half the day and $10 of paint at the chrono.

About the hopper falling out, I had the same problem and i tried electrical tape and it was to thick and if kept coming off, so i took some masking tape and rapped it around the neck of the hopper one time and it was a perfect fit.

They are all correct about co2. Its just a matter of the compressed air doesn't have to change forms from a liquid to a gas. When you satrt cranking out rounds then the expansion of the liquid may not fully occur there fore you get a low shot. But if to much liquid gets in and you are waiting for a shot, it has the time to change froms and then you may shoot hot.
When you go to compressed air, there is not changing forms from liquid to gas. The source of power is consistent. Although tippmann may say it is ineffective without there special kit, all there kit really does is drop the operating preasure even more. All in all an N2 system would be a really good advantage over co2.
