We got hammered four games in a row. We came out strong in the first game (my first tournament) getting the max and not loosing a player. This had spirits high, it was a good way to start the day and I am very proud to have pulled the flag and hung it in my first tournament game. I got two, my wife got one and it was over in three minutes eighteen seconds on a five minute time limit. The ref counted down, 3...2...1...ten seconds...go, go, go...
We got the max and never lost a man. The next four games proved this to be our first to the sceptics who thought our first tournament game seemed a little fishy. We got maxed twice only eliminating one player in the second game, none in the 3rd, 4th or 5th. Then in the sixth and final game of the prelims(small tourny) we started off like crap when me and my wife had to dive for an early bunker to avoid Mindtraps wall of paintballs. We then noticed that while pinpointing their locations they were not doing much, so I moved up. From there they never changed the plan, they hid in the back waiting for a mistake. I moved to the centerflag station, a "T" shaped hyperball bunker in which another player mirrored me. I popped up over the top as soon as I got there and tagged him twice, pulled the flag and resumed the push. As luck would have it, my hopper gave out on me and wouldn't feed, I was pinned and actually resorted to trying to fit inside the tube(hyperballers know what I mean) when I was tagged and the ref called time. We came out with a one for one and a pull for the last and final game of the day for Team Instinct. Just wanted to share that first tournament experience with a few other paintallers. Our official points=65, we got jacked for 10 points because we didn't add them up when we signed for them in the first game, 2 wins, 4 losses. Next month, though. Next month raps up the years series, and we'll be practicing for next year. I had more fun today(well yesterday, but I haven't gone to sleep yet) then ever before in my entire life.
