what kind of paint do they use to powder coat?? i found out how to do it but i can't figure out what kind of paint they use.if you know please tell...10 tahoma

its not a paint.. its basicaly a very fine plastic dust.

JCWhitney.....Not sure if that is spelled right...but they are a mail order automotive parts catalog ..I think they have a site.....well they used to sell the kit.....some kind of static charge is used to have the powder cling...then you have to bake it in an oven....do a search ....also....

Powdercoat is a heat activated colored dry powered epoxy that is thicker & more durable than paint. The static charge is not necassary to use but helps with particle retension and overspray. Baking melts the powder into a solid shinny coating.:sleep:

eastwood catlog sell s it you need more than the power though you need special gun that puts it on with static so it sticks to the metal

no you cant get it at hardware stores

not sure on prices

www.eastwood.com not sure if that works but the place sells car repair stuff

caswell (http://www.caswellplating.com/frames.asp?bottom=/powder_coat.htm) better gun but crapy selection of powder colors.
