Hey, I have been out of the game for a few months and forgotten quite a bit about the guns and such. Just recently I have gotten back into the game and my brother now wants to play as well, i dont want him to suffer through the agony of playing with the horrible rentals that our local field has.. and i wanna upgrade my gun anyways, so i need your help.
Current gun: Spyder Electra
Im willing to spend in the neighborhood of $500 for a new/used gun.. was looking through the classifieds section on the site... bunch of guns id love to have..
Id love to try out a AutoMag/Cocker but whatever you guys think is best.. and it must be a *upgrade*
Thanks!

Definatly try to find a used (or new) Automag or Minimag. They sell the TKO Mag kits on pbgear.com for $280. I personally like Mags better than 'Cockers but thats just me.

nevermind, just read up on it... seems like they're pretty similar besides the fact that a cocker has a lot more moving parts and has that awesome moving (bolt?) when it fires.

Get a used 2k2 or GZ or Classic timmy. Timmys rule over all else. I dare someone to argue it.
Get a Bushmaster 2003 with pds. :agree:

X-Mag >>>>>>>>> Timmy
E-Mag >>>>> Timmy
E-Orracle >>>>>> Timmy
Argued.
On topic: Get a used Automag from the trading forums somewhere. Look for an Intelliframe/Hyperframe, Level 10, and either a Classic Valve (if you're going with CO2), or a Retro/X-Valve (if using nitro, although this will more than likely put the marker out of your price range).

wow great argument.... any reasons for your retarded way of thinking?
Tuesday My friend brought over his e-mag and we shot it in back my house. We didn't have much air left, i think it was around 1000 psi. he shot around 170 balls (I walked it and it was pretty good, he had a halo on it. I think I wass getting maybe 12-13 bps) and he used about 900 psi on 170 shots. So I went and got my Classic timmy. I put on the tank with about 100 psi left in it. I loaded about 170 rounds. I shot every single ball before I ran out of air. i was also able to walk it faster. I could go on tell you about your mags >> timmy idea and continue shooting it to , But I won't because its pointless to do so. anyway Timmys own all and so far no one can prove me wrong.
Get a used timmy, you will not be sorry

Funny.
What would you suggest, Cobra?

So you're saying a lower operating pressure makes a better marker?
Right.
How about that 'Mags are smaller and lighter than the Timmy? How about that they've got Level 10-- Level 10 doesn't fail, electronics can-- and how about how the X-Mag has anti-chop redundancy in its eye and Level 10? How about that the E/X-Mag is not only your primary, but your backup marker in the same one? Good luck if your battery runs out on that Timmy... switch to mech on the Mag and keep ripping.
Need more?

Rate of fire is not always what makes a gun better, it is still a lot of personal preference, plus since his friend is just gettting into the game, sporting a timmy might make it a little hard for a newcomer to the sport to continually play since with the timmy being able to easilly go through 2-3 cases of paint, it may be hard on them economy wise...

And the Orracle:
Customize every single thing about the marker and its operation, both mechanically and electronically. It's also got anti-chop redundancy if set up correctly- the bolt will stop on the ball. Also, if you live in the boonies but still want a high grade marker, you can run the E-Orracle on CO2, and well.
Oh, and the E-Orracle will go down there with your Timmy.

level 10 never fails huh? why then did a guy with a level 10 chop every single ball he shot at the field I play at. yeah never fails... he blaimed it on the paint... I thne took some of his paint and put in in my timmy and I shot just fine.
I didn't bother reading the rest of your post.

Your lies are horrible. Not even a terribly setup LX would chop every ball.
Not reading? That means you read it and can't say anything to it.

It doesn't really matter how much you love your own timmy, when Stryken, the thread starter said he was interested in cockers/mags. :|
And to get this thread back on topic: I'd get a mag. Like you, I started with a spyder and then upgraded to a mag. They're sturdy, reliable and have great after market parts available.

Thanks for getting it back on topic. By no means am i limiting it to a Mag/Cocker.. it's just what everyone seems to have to i guess it wouldnt be a bad move?
