I was just wondering how many people think there shoud be more girl paintbal players. or do you wish girls would leave the sport?

SinfulCindy

Would've been easier if you made a poll, hmm?

I know I'm a female paintballer, but I'm commenting in this thread anyway.

I'm both for and against. For, because paintball's fun and girls could experience the rush paintball gives you. Against, because of girls who are just there to be attention whores and the annoying, baby ones who always go, "Oh my gawd! It sounds sooo scary!" and then they end up never trying to play or try to get better at playing.

Other than that, I'm for other female paintballers who play for the love of the sport.

To me male/female doesn't matter. My team has a girl on it and she does what she's supposed to on the field so I have no issues with it. I'll play with her just like I would anyone else. If she screws up on the field I'll blast her just as fast as I would anyone else. Gender doesn't matter, ability does.
I think it's funny when other teams underestimate us because there's a girl on our team. We just laugh and them roll over them in seconds.

Paintball is one of the few sports were being a guy or a girl really doesn't matter. A girl paintball player can be just as good, and in some cases better than guys. I'm all for girls playing who are actually going to play and not sit there and cry about how much it hurts to get shot.

I don't care if you're male, female, or transvestite-- just don't hide in the same bunker for entire games and I'd love to play some paintball with you

when i see someone playing pb, i don't think of them as either males or females. they're just paintball players and that's all that matters.

They don't belong out there... they just hit on me all day long and keep me from playing my best. ;)

RaiderWin16

As long as they try to play and not whine about everything (I've seen guys of all ages whine), then they are good for the sport. It also helps if a few on your team have a great looking body and shows some skin cuz it distacts the other team:wink2: j/k.

I totally agree with you cindy...i have tried to get some of my friends(girls also) to play and they whine about it being scary, and it hurting but they wouldnt know cause they've never played:rolleyes: it makes me sick if they would just play they would realize it doesnt hurt that bad even when your being bunkered.........our team has been looked at funny cause i'm a girl but we still kicked there butt!!:D .......should i comment on the thread i started i didnt even answer the question:crazy: ....but yea i think if girls are going to be for real then they should play but not if they are going to play to meet guys  or whine the whole time!....a girl that whines all the time=a pain in the butt it also helps if a few on your team have a great looking body and shows some skin cuz it distacts the other team:wink2:j/k <i think those are what cindy meant..attention whores yea i think so..hehe

Dude, I don't think I can ever say girls are whiny about getting hit with paintballs until I have two massive lumps of flesh hanging off my chest getting pelted at 204 MPH, leaving me with the option of either looking like I have some weird form of breast cancer, or wearing the uber-cool chest armor they make for women, which results in more breaks.

I've played against some chicks that could flat rip it up!!
If they want to play, let'em play. But don't go easy on'em 'cause before you know it some chick will come and take over you favorite bunker!

I'm all for it as long as they try to play. Last time I went out there were a couple girls on my team that came with a group of guys. They all had rental markers. On the third game, right after the break and I got to my first bunker I got shot on the shoulder. I got up and got out thinking that someone just got a lucky shot in. When I kept watching 3 more of my teammates came out on friendly fire hits and I realized thats what mine was too. The stupid girls were just standing in the back spraying paint and giggling.:pissed: Girls like that do not belong on the feild.

I am half and half for it. I don't want girls to come to a paintball field just becuase they want to get hot guys or something. There needs to be girls there that play cuase they love the sport.

PhoenixZERO1
10-23-2003, 02:15 PM
^ ^ Hey Snake545 you do have a point there.

Some girls do do that. Unfortunately if your looking for a good paintball game, girls that are playing to chase guys usually won't end you up with a good game.

If they really want to play the game it's cool with me though :)

well i dont care if they play as long as they dont whine or complain. But i guess that would go for any male player too...

ive never played with girls that i know, but i think somtimes its nice to be away from people you can offend easily. I mean when your around a female, youre supposed to watch your mouth, and i know that would be hard on the feild. Somtimes its just nice to get away and be the rude, crude male you are, without worring about having to impress the females

I've never, ever seen a girl come and spend a bunch of money to play/rent + paint and then risk what may be considered pain to get a guy.

It's a lot easier to go to the movies or something..

A lot of chics are stupid when it comes to guys, too. It's true, seriously. I've met plenty of chics before on online PC games and in other places that are just there to flirt with the guys and get all the attention from them. Any other girl they see come around, they're automatically competition for them, even if that chic is there for the game and not the guys. See, stupid, right?

The chicks I pb with are cool.

One is the wife of the guy that runs everything. She got in to it becasue her husband was in it, and now she is deadly as hell. She is almost 2x my age and has made me eat paint more times that I care to admit.

My x plays with us too. She is getting in to it so she has lots to learn but she likes it.

Then there is this girl that come with a friend of mine. This is the greatest. There is some really good sexual tension between them. When we play some random games they sometimes end up just pelting the hell our of each other at point blank range. She is a little more twords the atention whore but hey, it gives us something to look at too. :|

But yeah I am up for anyone playing as long as you can be cool at least 95% of the time.

I put my hair under my skull cap and the ponytail in my camo. If anyone were to paint my hair, I'll make sure they'll be so sorry... My hair goes all the way down to almost my butt and takes me 30 to 45 minutes to shampoo and condition, no way am I letting someone put paint in my hair! I'm lazy...

There's usually a few chics at my outlaw field, so everyone's use to there being a couple (not few, because the extra's usually a newbie) butt-kicking girls there.

I've never really cared one way or the other, paintball is by nature a very simple game, two teams, one has to win. If I go easy on anyone on the other team for ANY reason I am a detriment to my team. I've taken my share of lumps from girls but I haven't felt any different than when it's anybody else. I got hit, I'm out, it doesn't matter who pulled the trigger. If more girls want to get into the game, that's great, the more players we have the stronger we are.

Honestly I'm all for girls playing, I think its gr8 that they are there right along side me, shooting the same ppl, u kno, and if they are one of theose gurls that sit there and spray paint at nething, then shoot them, they won't kno, they'll think there out and leave, really simple, and it wurks. and hey, there good company if u end up stuck in a bunker. and if ne1 shouldnt be allowed 2 not play its very little children, they r EXTREMELY ANNOYING, they distract u, ask u wut kind of gun u have, wut they should do, then when u tell them they either dont execute it at all, or perfrom it sooo badly that it doesnt even matter.

My conclusion: Girls in, little kids, out.

Sorry. :o :(

Anyway, here's my REAL opinion on girl paintballers. There can be those who are honestly interested, and will play aggressively and well, but for every one of those, there is one that will trash talk when they get you out, but then if you bunker them (Or shoot them 'too hard') will call you a mean jerk and stammer off. There are also those who just hide and don't do anything.

So I'll say I'm for girls who want to really play paintball.

I don't care if the folks on the field are male or female. As long as they play, and play like they mean it.

I've been playing woodsball for a little over a year, and I've had women on my team (and on the opposing team) who can seriously kick some.

My best friend's wife played for the first time last month, and in the third game of the day (which was a game of center flag on a particularly hellacious field) she came out not only with the flag, but as the one of the last players standing. She pulled a move that blew us all away... I had picked up the flag and was making my way down field when I got pinned down by one on my buddy's friends - a former marine (infantry). He eventually hit me as I was trying to move up to better position. With about two minutes left in the game a ref took the flag and returned it to the center of the field. My buddy's wife got the flag almost as soon at is was put back and began moving down field with our two remaining team mates offering cover, but the marine pinned her down. Two other opponents moved in and added cross-fire to the mix. With about a minute left and only the 3 opponents left on the field she very loudly yelled, "That's it!" and stood up... there was a pause of about 2 or 3 seconds where no one fired. ...I guess everyone was confused and thought she had been hit (back in the Dead Zone we were all a bit confused by the move as well). In almost unison she and her team mates opened fire and picked off both of the opponents that had put her in her a cross fire. With only the marine left, and all three team mates concentrating fire on his bunker she pulled a Doc Holiday and walked out from behind her bunker and began to move down field towards him (he was about 8 or 9 yards away). She broke into a sprint and started unloading her hopper at his bunker to keep him down. He tried to spray and pray, but before he could get a good shot off she had him bunkered.

I generally saw my buddy's wife as being a relatively reserved woman, but after that day I had a much different opinion (so did the marine). She can be on my team any day!

Both sexes. It's very cool when someone of the opposite sex (a girl in my case :blah:) has similar interests. It amazes me when I talk to girls in VB class and they play games like Counterstrike, but it would be even cooler if some of them played paintball too. All for making the sport more co-ed.

I played with a friend of mine a few years ago and it was her first time. We were in the woods, I came around back of her and had a clear shot at her back, but instead I just shot a few by her, got her to look back at me, then I signalled with my thumb to leave.

But she also wasn't really into the whole thing... so... it's not just that she was a girl, and it's not just that I liked her, but she was a newb too. I dunno, lots of pieces. Anyway, I go easy on guy newbs too, but I'll just shoot them in the foot or the gun or the mask or something if I can.

Now, for example, when I've played against Capo, I go for blood. And very rarely do I survive the encounter. :P

thedus
10-30-2003, 03:43 AM
If I feel that someone will be mad if they get hit... or get mad if they're hit somewhere that might hurt then I don't think they should be on the field.

I don't play for blood, but when I play I give it my all, and I would expect anyone else on the field to do the same. If I have a shot I'll take it. If that means I gog someone, hit them square on the top of the head, in the chest, in the hand, or where ever then thats what I'll do - and I would expect anyone else to do the same with me.

A new player (whether it be male or female) shouldn't be treated any differently than a more experienced player. Everyone steps on to the field with some idea of what to expect, and if someone feels that the sport is too rough, too aggressive, too... whatever, and they don't like it then nothing says they have to continue. Hell, I've been in games where new players decided that paintball really wasn't their thing and left after half a day of play - and that's cool, that's their decision, and I'm not going to rag them for it. But if you're on the field with me, and you're new (male or female), don't expect me to treat you any differently than someone who has been playing for five years. We are all out there for the same reason: to have fun. And getting welts, bruises and the occasional cut is all a part of playing paintball, and people who play it understand that. ...actually most of the people I've met are rather proud of their welts by the end a day. :)

So to answer your question, Lollibird87: No, I wouldn't go easy on a girl. Everyone on the field is treated equally.

Not a chance. I go after every opponent with everything I have. Everyone gets treated the same. Someone said this already...if they get mad about getting hit then they shouldn't be there, no matter what gender they are.

Though I must admit...I've seen more male players walk off the field whining and complaining then female players.

Thanks, Chris Lasoya...

I see one ultimate truth to newbies in paintball. The first day must 100% absolutely be fun. Getting hammered on all day and going home as a piece of tenderized meat does not help. Awhile back, I would bring friends in during tourny practice days and even told them up front they would get pretty messed up. They did. Not one of them has played more than twice. Compare to when I take people out for a nice relaxing walk on woodsball game where I'll put down my $1000+ marker for a pistol so I can play in the beginners group with them... almost ALL of them still play. The only one I can think of that doesn't... got hit three times in the neck by some jerk from 10 feet. (when we were playing 20 ft surrender.) If they come home mad about even one piece of the day, they're gone. You'll never see them out there again.

I agree with you 100% UTLadiesMan: the first time out should be all about having fun. ...That's still what its all about for me.

Anytime that I've taken a newbie out to play it has always been for woodsball... hell, I prefer to play woodsball anyway. As a matter of fact I have two friends who have never played, and are on a major paintball jag, and are asking me when I can take them out to try it. :)

Anytime I've walked into the Dead Zone after the first game of the day with a newbie I've never seen anything but a huge face-splitting grin greeting me. Which is usually followed by something to the tune of: "That was great!" Only once did that not happen - but the two women that were disappointed were there only because their husbands had coaxed them into going, and they really had no true desire to play.

I will still let a new player (male or female) know that they are going to get welts, that some shots may sting more than others, and occasionally a shot will split the skin. I don't want them to be surprised. I also tell them not to worry about strategies - they will come later. Just go out and have fun. But I also let them know that once they are out on the field they should expect to be treated the same as everyone else, and that new players (or women) wont get treated any differently than the more experienced players.

most of the time on the field i can't see all of the person trying to shoot me or who i'm trying to shoot because of obstacles like bunkers, trees, other players, etc. i never know what gender they are, or age even, until the game is over or i get em out, which helps me be totally objective towards my opponent.

a good example was one of the last times i played i was holding down this one guy while my cousin advanced. i never got him out but my cousin got him to surrender. turned out he was about 10 yrs old.

I think that:

If someone is playing and is on the field they should expect to get shot. No mercy there shoot everyone in sight.

If its a girl do i go easy?
Most likely I cant even tell if its a girl or a guy. Everyone at velocity is wearing the same friggin thing so you cant really tell who is who let alone what gender they are.

For all the girls out there...

if you see a cute guy playing do you go easy on him?

I'd LIKE to keep this thread civilized. A number of these in the past haven't even made it this far, and this one's future is leaking bleaker by the post. Sorry lollibird :(

Sorry, just coudnt hold it back any longer. Nice size choice, eh? ;)

I haven't read the whole thread yet, and I don't really plan on it because the topic doesn't interest me that much, so I am going to leave now. You all know my standpoint :)

Well, I would normally say "No, I wouldn't go easy. She should be treated like everyone else". But a thing to take into consideration is how old the girl is. I was playing a game of woodsball and a 9 year old girl was the only one left. I could have shot her (from probably 15 feet away), but decided to barrel tag her instead. I'm a softy :(

In that situation, I'd have done the same thing.:|

what's barrel tagging?

Tap them with your barrel and have them surrender.

mullen

So if you tap them they're out?
If they have to surrender after you tap them, wouldn't that be dumb because they can just shoot you on the spot instead of surrendering.. and then it'd be from near point blank range.. :|

They probably had a rule for it before they started.

My boyfriend and I usually end up on opposite teams. We're so mean to each other sometimes. It's pretty funny. :)

Actually, one of the places I play has a "10 foot rule" in woodsball that states if an opponent gets within ten feet of you, and has you dead to rights, then you have to surrender. ...I've never seen someone who is looking up the open end of a barrel at less than 10 feet try to shoot the threatening opponent - they simply surrender and walk off the field.

What does it really matter if the player is a girl or not? I may sound a little harsh but this kind of question is absurd. You might as well name this thread "African American paintball players... for or against?" Same thing. I bet if you played against a girl you couldn't tell the difference. Their are skilled and unskilled guys, same with girls. I'll just leave saying "the more paintball players the better, as long as they don't teamkill." Good day

Well I was thinking that the hair or mascara may give it away...if they're wearing that. But in skill, no.
