High I was talking with my local paintball store owner about regulators with CO2 he said that it really wouldn't help and that I should get a Expasion chamber since that would really help with accuarcy and stuff he also said you only need a regulator if you have HPA. But I see people gettig them with there tippmanns and they use CO2 and they say it really helps them! to sum it up is a regulator going to help me or should I get a expansion chamber? and if I don't care with the difference in price money has nothing to do with it.

The guy at your pro shop is an idiot. The best deal is a reg and anti-siphon. The anti-siphon does the same thing as an expansion chamber for only $5. And yes, regs are VERY good for CO2. Tell that guy to learn about his occupation or to find another job.

Hey the guy at my proshop told me that I shouldn't get Anti-siphon. Just 'cuz they work at a proshop does not mean that they are a pro or that they will know everything that they need to know(rhymed).
The regulator is an excellent choice, not to mention if you ever do get HPA for this or another marker you'll already have a reg and won't need to buy one.
Don't be mean to the guy at the shop either that won't get you anywhere.

It sounds to me like the guy associates regulators with HPA and that's why he thinks regs arn't any good for Co2. But, if he would use his brain then he would realize that a regulator stabilizes or regulates the air pressure going into the marker. This keeps your shots more consistent and virtually will eliminate the problem of "shooting hot". As your Co2 tank warms up, the pressure inside of it increases. If you don't have a regulator, then the increased pressure can and will increase the FPS of your shots resulting in illegal speeds.
Also, since a regulated gun has more consistent air pressure, this means that your shot trajectory will have simular arcs when flying through the air. This increases your shot accuracy.
An expansion chamber will NOT regulate pressure. You will still get erratic FPS even if you use an expansion chamber. All an expansion chamber will do is prevent or reduce liquid from getting into the gun. This can also be done with an anti-syphon in your tank. As previous posts have stated, the anti-syphon is cheaper than an expansion chamber and you don't have to have a huge chamber sticking out of your gun. I think expansion chambers are more usefull in cold weather but since I live in the southern US, I don't see any use for one.

True, Xchambers are better in cold weather but it can provide a very good back up to AS. As it will give it further rom for expansion thus keeping your velocity more stable.

will a x-chamber and a reg. help more than just a reg.? im pretty sure u can put both if u get a palmer stabalizer female.

Its pointless to have a female reg than a male xchamber as the xchamber would deregulate the air and negate the point of a reg. Now if you could find a female xchamber and male reg it wouldnt be that bad an idea. But by that point you could of bought a decent HPA tank.

That's what they told me when I wanted anti-siphon.
The same guy told me that the Air America Black Ice reg was better than a Stabilizer. Now that may or may not be true, but they are about the same price, and I don't see too many people runnin' around with AA Black Ice regs. :eyes:

Actually, the Pro-Lites and Pro Carbines do like liquid Co2. My local field uses syphoned tanks (not anti-syphoned) with their pro-lite rentals for this reason.
However, your shop guys are wrongly lumping all Tippmann markers in this "liquid loving" category which is completely untrue, although Tippman markers as a whole can handle liquid better than most other guns.
