I have been eyeing this gun... and i want it very very badly.
I heard bad, and good things about it... please clarify if these are true, if they are false or to the extent that the truth goes.

a) the newer versions of the Rebel Limited Edition have a vertical feed that comes from the side, which has a bad flow, causing balls to get chopped, and the gun to jam more.

b) the gun needs a new barrel, because the one currently on it (stock) is innacurate and noisy.

c) A spyder is a better gun for the money, more reliable, and is a much better buy.

please gimme feed back, because i am in a tough descision on what gun to get, and this gun looks nice for what i want.

I want a gun that is accurate so a barrell change on any of the blowback semi's in in order, but i might have to scrape some cash before i get that, so i want an ACCURATE gun. Runs well off of co2, doesn't chop balls, has a good aim, and is easy to upgrade and fix. I have heard good and bad things about this gun, and right now it is at the top of my list. Please tell me advice, lots of feedback. right now i am looking at the Rebel LE, Spyder TL+ or Xtra, and the JT excellerator 4.0 (i heard they suck, they are just like brass eagles, so i'm not very hot on that one either..) i have used a tippman model 98, and i like the way that gun shoots, but it doesn't have great range, and the shots are pretty innacurate. please give me FEEDBACK! tell me all the dirty things that suck about it, and tell me all the good things about it.

Bad gun! I had one and it would chop paint like no other. Also after about 800 shots (400 of which were chops) the conncecting pin broke. My opinion is that a Piranha or Spyder is the much better value for the money. I love my Xtra. Yes, the stock barrel on the LE is horrible. My LE is now sold. 32* also does not have very good customer service.

The Rebel LE was my first gun. From what I understand, it is the older versions that have the side-mounted vertical feed (This is what I have). I think the new ones have the true vertical feed. As I stated in another post, I really like the idea behind the side mounted feed -- you can sight over the top of the gun and no elbow is needed -- but I don't think it was executed well. The feed plug is a pain -- make sure it's not too high or too low. If you plan on firing more than 3 balls in rapid succession, plan on getting a Revy or something similar. Yes, the stock barrel is loud, but it has no porting -- that's why. Also, there isn't much in the way of aftermarket parts. Other than that stuff, it's got a great grip, very nice trigger pull, expansion chamber and a thumbscrew rear velocity adjuster. Because of all the problems I was having initially, I got fed up and bought a Spyder Compact. Other than having to use an elbow and a sloppy trigger pull (which has since been fixed), I am extremely happy with this gun. It's also much easier to get spare parts and upgrades for the Spyder.
Hope this helps -- Good luck

I bought this gun over a month ago, and have put two cases worth of paint through it (4000). I have NEVER chopped a ball with mine, which is the newer model with the true Vert. feed. You should get an aftermarket barrel, I use a 16" CP on mine. This gun is a great buy, and I prefer it over my Spyder Shutter, which seemed to have a lot more problems when it came new. Personal preference bud.

i would suggest just getting a spyder because they are better and they are less expensive.

TJ from national paintball emailed me and said that there are no true vertical feed Rebel models out yet. And I finally got my connecting pin for my LE, I ordered it last May from NPS. So Admiral, how does yours have a true vertical feed if the TJ guy told me that none have been released yet?

The Rebel LE has had the true vert feed for at least a couple of months now, at least that I know of. Check out the LE at www.32ice.com, it has a picture of the LE with true vert. feeds, My green LE looks exactly like the one in the pic. My local paintball store has a bunch of these guns all with true vert. feed. Check it out, it really increased the performance of the gun, I like it alot.

it was my first gun. i am greatly dissapointed. it does chop balls alot. the stock barrel has no porting and is like a cannon (which can be good for speedball) just read my review on it under the semi guns.

Hey, you are right Admiral. I am sure it is a nice gun as long as you get the true vertical feed model. The vertical power feed was a good idea with a horrible design. Anyways if you do get one davkad, get the true vertical feed one.

About a month and a half ago, I visited www.32ice.com and saw the picture of the true vertical feed LE. I then started searching for dealers in the hopes that I could get a replacement body for my side-feed LE. No luck. A couple of weeks ago, I saw a new Rebel LE true-vertical feed for sale on eBay. I almost picked it up for $80 since I figured just the new body would cost around the same price. Alas, I decided not to bid and I called NPS last week in the hopes of purchasing the new body style. Unfortunately, I was told that there was nothing available until the new body style is designed and put into production -- hopefully in 4-6 weeks. Hopefully, in the near future, there will be a way for us with the side-feeds to finally get a true vertical feed.
