The Aradus barrel from Psychoballictics seems like a pretty intresting buy, yet has received many mixed reviews from this site (http://pbreview.com/products/reviews/1096/)
Here's what I've gathered about the barrel:
-Pros:
Adjustable bore without extra inserts
Extremely accurate
Quiet
Cheaper than Freak
Looks pretty neat
-Cons:
Terribly inefficient with gas
Hard to change bore size
Velocity goes down
Hard to clean
I think that this looks like a good buy, and that most of the low ratings were terrible exaggerations, but I'm trying to find somebody who has this that I can talk to and try to find out the truth about this barrel. Does anybody have experience with this barrel? Thanks for your help.

Those cons really outweigh the pros...
Bad efficiency is more important than bore changing convinience, cuz you do that like twice a day, and it's still hard to do even though it isn't inserts.
Hard to clean means you break a ball in there and you're not shooting straight til you fix that problem. Another issue.
If you're looking for a cheap kit, go look at the Scepter.

That was just the summary of the reviews that I read. There were reviews stating that cleaning wasn't a problem, or they simply didn't address the subject. I probably should've added the fact that the majority of those who said anything about the paint stated that this barrel doesn't break it. The paint I use is tournament quality, so it most likely wouldn't break in the barrel (from what I've been told).
I'm relatively new to the PB world, so I'm not sure how big of a factor being gas efficient is. Is it really that much of an issue?

It's a big issue.
For a backman, having an efficiency problem means he can't shoot as much paint, meaning he may not be able to perform as well.
For a frontman, it causes him to have to carry a bigger tank.
Scepter.
Or, if you don't have a 'Cocker/Shocker (Pre-2k3), you don't need a kit. Look around for the reasons.

Pre 2k3 'Cockers are closed bolt. Due to some issue, the 2k3 is open bolt.

its not just cockers and shockers, its any closed bolt marker. so yeah, unless you have a closed bolt, dont even get one.

Yeah, I know, but most other closed bolt markers aren't really big marker, so the aren't worth mentioning.
