Here's the deal - I have $230, and I want a decent paintball gun. I don't want a Spyder just becuz everyone else has 1. So I'm thinking about going with a Piranha E-Force VTL 2K3. I've seen the gun and for some reason, i luv the way it looks. Another thing is that it is quite cheap, leaving me with extra dough for other stuff. I've read reviews, and all sed that this gun is quite good. So here is my question: Should I do it?

then how do you plan on buying paint? plus, is that $230 for just the gun or for all your equipment too?
and i know piranha's are nice guns and you don't like spyders but you can get some very nice spyder setups for pretty cheap.

um... you say you don't like spyders so your getting a piranna? That doesn't make any sense. Anyway I would have to advise against most spyder clones. They are cheaply made. I would say get a nice used gun, such as a BKO or vert cocker. If you do want to get a new gun get a JT excellerator 5.0. I've used it and its a great gun. Like most guns it has to be upgraded a little but is a good deal. Buy it new for like 150. Then get a JT Thermal nVader for 30. A 16 or 20 oz co2 tank for 20. And a 12v revy for 40. With that you should be able to have pretty good setup. It will cost about 240. Once you get some more money get a n2 tank and a new barrel. (this setup is not very upgradeable but is still good stock) Also avoid gun packages like fire. They come with cheap supplies, and you dont' want a cheap mask. Paintball is a safe sport and getting a good mask will keep it that way.

ah ok i see. But anyway thats not the way the game is played. You don't want something because everybody has one. Not a good strategy.

Pirahnas are fine markers for the budget he's on, especially electro. Cockers are NOT for beginners. You can mess one up pretty bad if you don't know what you're doing, and a BKO is out of his price range.

Go with the pirahna.

Id say go and buy a used bushy. Very nice guns for the money, fast and light. There about $250 new so you can get a used one for cheap and buy a revy and be set.
