I went to the website for that Tornado paintball to see what else they "manufacture" besides that "Pod Loader", which is actually nothing more than a $4 walmart koolaid jug with a sticker on it. ROFL They actually made a video of some guy filling his pods to music! LOL People trying to rip noobs off ends up turning a lot of people away from paintball.

the point is this company is trying to rip people off...
the musical pod-loading video just adds to the "cheese" factor.

Well if someone is stupid enough to waste obscene amounts of money on a plastic jug, then more than likely they shouldn't be playing paintball.

I dunno, that jug does look like a good idea. It's got this pressure lid on it that lets you open and close the jug to fill your pods w/o spilling. If it weren't so expensive, I'd buy it.

LOL I just fill my pods out of my bag of paintballs.

My solution is an old 9v Revvy I got for about $15.00 from a kid who just bought a HALO-B and filling my 10-round tubes with that. I use the vertical elbow that came with my Phantom: I pop it onto the hopper and put the balls inside so balls do not spill...like a "hood" if you will.

How are they ripping off anyone? Are they misrepresenting their product? Did they lie about it? Are they putting a gun to people's head to make them buy it?

Deathstalker: They're ripping people off because they throw a sticker on a koolaid jug and sell it for $28
No, no one is forced to buy it. But the fact that they would even do that, gives an insight into their integrity. It's kinda like the same thing as when the guy at the local proshop tries to sell kids and noobs junk they don't need:pissed:
I've seen him do that a couple times, and he's on my sh list

The best and cheapest way to load pods, IMO, is cut off the top of a Gatorade bottle and make a funnel out of it... quick and easy and all you need to do it butcher a plastic bottle that you already used ;)

If people CHOOSE to buy it, how are they getting ripped off? They know full well exactly what the product is. Just because you think something is overpriced doesn't mean the company is ripping off anyone. They have a business to run and their pricing is designed to make a profit and keep their margin as high as possible. It's pretty simple.
Do you think markers that cost over $1,000 are priced fairly? If so, why? What about $180 Boomsticks? It's just milled metal!

Stalker makes a very good point. People choose to buy it, but then those people are wasting there money cuz what's a few extra minutes to use your hands or pour from bag to pod anyway? Certainly not worth $28 bucks to do it... of course maybe you're just jealous that you didn't take your Kool-Aid jug and slap a lid on it and try to sell it off first... ?

Why not just sell, the lid...I think that would be a much better idea, I mean if it was like 5 or maybe even 10 bucks I might just buy the lid and put it on a jug, but not the whole thing.
And you got my hopes up, I had this vision of some fat guy dancing and filling the pods in time with the music, and then it's just techno with pod filling.
Funny, but not hilarious.

Because I can't go to Wally World and buy a Boomstick or Timmy for a fraction of the cost. That's how they're ripping people off

No, I wouldn't sell a Koolaid jug for $28 to some n00b. If you haven't noticed, there are enough companies/people trying to do that in paintball i.e. SP
The last thing I am is jealous lol
I honestly can't even think of any newbies I know that would fall for that line of BS. As I said before, the point is these guys are TRYING to rip people off, and they only end up looking like @sses. Aside from that video, I've never seen anyone use that "Pod loader"

my cousin made his own out of a liquid detergent bottle. same concept as the gatorade jug but with a longer 'nozzle.'

Is it expensive and overpriced? Yes.
But then again it is also a good idea. Maybe you didn't notice but he was able to fill several pods fast without spilling.
Doesn't mean I'm gonna buy one.

so is there a "pod loader" loader? the loader doesnt seem wide enough to just unload a bag of paintballs with no problem. it seems kinda narrow, so you still have to use your hand or some sort of funnel to load the "pod loader".
oh well...

Lol, I was kidding about the jealousy thing. And you are right, alot of companies do want to screw over newbs and make the extra buck. That's called capitalism. Anyway, I didn't realize a pod loader would cause such a debate... lol
I'd never even heard of it until this thread and that video.. hee hee. Anyway, basically what I'm saying is that you're right worldtraveler. But there is no need to be hatin' on the player just cuz they found a way to play the game... lol.

Whats with all the people making funnels and crap like that to fill your pods and hopper? What happened to just cutting the corner of your bag of paint off and filling them straight from the bag?Oh, wait, that would make too much sense....

because its simpler to make a bleach bottle funnel for whatever because first, less risk of spilling, its faster, less chance of an overfill, just all round more convenient.
my field has half bleach bottles nailed up to trees in the staging area to fill pods with.

theres a better loader u can make with 28 dollers, just take 28 individual doller bills and duct tape them together in a funnel shape

As good as I like to think I am I usually tend to lose a paintball or two when I am filling my pods. So if this pod loader thing last longer then it would take for me to eventually drop half a case of paint in the dirt then I guess it pays for itself. Then again, who's to say you can load the pod loader with losing any paint? I guees you can't win, can you.

Wait, since when does SP try to sell $28 koolaid jugs to noobs? Sounds more like jt selling "speed pods" at 17 bucks a piece.

I just use an old 100 rnd pod with the lid chopped off...that helps...no mess, no worries.

the thing i dont like about them is, they are tryin SO hard to sell these things.. why? because no one is buyin, because everyone knows worthless at the price.. now, 8 or 9 bucks less, dam, i would even get one, and they would still be making a profit most likely :)
the should really just sell the lids and jugs seprate.. then ppl can just buy the lid if they already have somethin to duct tape it onto ;) haha thats my train of thought
