I like both styles of play, I like woods and camo better but thats completely my opinion. I don't play "just" woods or "just" speed, it kinda just depends on the mood I'm in.

I think paintball is so much better when you play in a wooded environment. Not really any reasons for what I say, except that it's just that its more realistic in comparison to real warfare (not that it should even come close to real war...)

Both styles. Some people like woods, some people like speedball. Both are part of paintball.
And I can't stand people who flame others for liking a different style of play then they do. It's embarrassing.

Never tried woods, Speedball is good, but it's not like Dirtbikers make fun of each other because one races moto, and the other is freestyle.
i like both styles of play. Speedball is a little more fun than woodsball tho, just because woods can sometimes be alot of walking :( but woods is an easy way to play if you cant make it to the local field, and always great to have just your buddies playing.

I almost see the sport eventually separating into 2 completely different kinds of sports; both are paintball, but are very different (like road biking and mountain biking).
As the time goes one, people are becoming very one sided in thier choice of play.

well, im not trying to diss it or nething becasue paintball played anywhere is good paintball....but its so dumb u minus well go to the army try ur luck there or play air soft....i mean i have done both and i hate woodsball that where army started..paintball just had to follow becasue of lack of technolagy at the time or i bet speedball would of bee ninvented first...the concept of speedball seems so much more sportier. i mean what sounds better...5, 7 ,10 minute games with constant fire. players screaming to the own with stradegy.....marking out the hole field or a 45 minute lilttel army game where u try to be silent...and get eat up be bugs......

I love Speedball and Woodsball. But I like Speedball a little more because the game is always going on, and not waiting for like 5 minutes, laying in the dirt waiting for somebody to come up to you. But Woodsball is good because if I dont feel like paying for admission because that means less money for balls, Ill play some woods with my friends.

Woods is where paintball began.
War is where most sports began. When Ray Lewis kills Terrel Davis to bring him down for a loss (fine, bad example), that argument is going to work.
Roots can be abandoned. In this case, they NEED to be abandoned.

Paintball was initially a bunch of hicks marking cattle and trees...therefore, the vandals are the ones that are keeping the tradition alive.

i have to add my 2 cents to the pile
my mom thinks is violent
when your mom tells you it is violent ask her what sport is not. a baseball player gets hit with a pitch and goes up takes the pitchers head off, football is violent i would rather be hit by a paintball then a 300lb linemen, and a hockey game is violent all around so all sports are violent in there own way.
War is where most sports began.
you are very right lacross was started by a Indian tribe as a way to sharpen their skills for war.
just my 2 cents i am now broke

Sooo true. I have played both hockey and lacrosse (yah I'm Canadian) and they are waaaaaaay more violent, and you can get hurt way worse. A hockey puck to the arm at 50mph, or a lacrosse ball in the hip at 130mph hurts a lot more than a paintball. Now to the guy who said his mom thought paintball is violent, she most likely thinks it's more violent because you use a object that closely resembles a firearm. Remember she is only trying to protect you, and do a good job as a parent, but try to educate her. Education is the only way to be tolerant.

I voted for Option #2 simply because that's my personal belief on half the matter. The other half of me believes that it's like the blacks and the whites- just accept what the other "people" are doing, and try to do your best with what YOU do. Don't spend all your time trying to change the woods players into arena players, because it makes you look like a jerk. The same goes for woods players to arena players. Everyone just be respectful towards eachother instead of "I'm better than you are", or "My gun shoots 20bps, your Talon only shoots 20 balls per MINUTE. HA! Like YOU could ever snipe me out!" Because you know what? It could happen.;)

I vote for Option 3.
I think Paintball should be seen as it really is IN BOTH FORMS! Everyone is entitled to there own opinions on both forms but neither form is going anywhere anytime soon and that both forms provide different game styles.
TM "pro" TC
I have a very hard time with your statement. How do you come to the conclution that one is better then the other? As others have said, they are totally different styles and saying one is wrong and the other is right is well, dumb... No ignorant (politically correct word). But, your entitled to your opinions as am I.

who cares what others like or dislike? just do your thing and stay out of everyone elses business...
but
there is one thing most of you guys are gonna have to realize...paintball is a milsim sport...no ifs ands or buts...you shoot projectiles and other people...to eliminate them...
I THINK everyone needs to quit trying to make it politically correct and enjoy the sport...
