Hi, I play the mid-player on my team and I was wondering if getting a remote for my A-5 is a good choice. I have heard at my local field that a remote on an A-5 is almost a must for how long the marker is with a 14" barrel. So any suggestions on if a remote is a good idea or a good one is great and if it is a good idea can you tell me where I can find a good remote that will not break or leak compressed air. Also I play a lot of speed ball and some woods. Thanks.

You could also look into getting a drop if your gun is too long for you, but don't just buy it because other people say your gun is too long. Just do what feels most comfortable.

Try before you buy. ;)

You said you played speedball and having a remote really isn't the "cool" thing to have in speedball, I guess its the whole "hey, this isn't the woods" attitude most tourney players have (i know i do). If it helps you though after you try it out get it but be prepared for the newb comments on the speedball field.

Remotes, you have the choice of coiled or steel-braided. The steel braided will last a lot longer… but it is also a longer remote. The coiled remote will sometimes curl up on you when gassed up, but just a turn of the gun and it's loose. Plus the coiled remote is more compact and doesn’t get in the way as much as steel braided. And if you get coiled, make sure it’s with a high enough psi, at least 3000, but 4500 if you can afford. Both are very flexible, so this shouldn’t be too much of a problem.

If you getting a remote, just make damn sure you get one with a silde check on it. Trust me on this one.

I bought the ACI Deluxe for like $50, which is a lot, but I feel that it was worth it. Good customer service, the coil is just perfect, the length is perfect, the slide check hasn't given me any trouble since I replaced the defective one it came with, and it is only rated to like 2500psi.

You don't really need a remote with a psi rating above that unless you're running co2 in really warm weather.

You could probably even get away with a 1000 psi rated remote for use with HPA, though I've never even seen one with that low of a rating.

Hey man, I suggest you buy a PMI remote, I know PMI has some sh1t products but I consider this remote really good. It doesnt leak and with CA when you unscrew the tank if you do it right it wont freeze your fingers.

Yes this is also true so you might just wanna get a drop. The same is for the drop though, try before you buy.The drop will also make your gun taller but you might need to buy a new harness for your remote.
