You don't NEED a drop.
I suggest that you wait for your barrel to come in and then figure out if you actually need a drop before you go off and buy one.

i have a DOP universal frop and it is perfect for the 98c with a 20oz tank.
you can get it from county paintball for 22 but you also need a 90degree fitting and some locktite.
steps for instalatiion, first you need to get the 90degree fittting on the drop, it takes some time but using a wrench helps. then do not connect the drop to the marker, and twist the drop onto the steel hose. then line it up with the drop and make sure it is a nice fit, then unscrew everything and do it again with the locktite. enjoy!

dont mind NN... too much tinkering just fried his brain...
he really loves drops, and even had a custom one made for him.
but noo... tippmann effect had to screw around some more with his brain...
now he hates drops, but deep down, he loves them.

Orange, there is a lot of reasons and alot of preference.
On the preference side....
Drops
-Some people think they look cool
-Some people think they look ugly
-Some people think they are comforatable
-Some people think they are uncomforatable
Uni-mounts / no drop / 1.5" or smaller drop
-Some people think they look cool
-Some people think they look ugly

-Some people think they are uncomforatable
Facts...
Drops
-Make your gun profile taller, hopper above head level, making more surface area to be hit.
-Create an un-usual shooting position for your arms, creating wrist strain (unless you have a z or y grip)
-Your guns overall length may be shorter, but you dont play tighter (in perspective to the person shooting at you)
Uni-mounts / no drop / 1.5" or smaller drop
-Gun profile shorter, hopper level or below forhead level, not affecting overall surface area to get hit.
-Natural shooting position for your arms, look at real guns.
-Your guns overall length is longer, but you can push into the bunker from farther back, meaning the person shooting at you sees less.
More ramblings...
Also, when playing with air bunkers, it's not always best to get as far into the bunker as possible. Situation permitting standing 1-2 feet back can be optimum. In the snake, laying on the ground, it's very hard to play with a drop. When snap shooting, it's easier without a drop, when switching from right to left, it's easier without a drop.
That's basically why. There's more, but it's late.
