The Freak Kit seems to be basically a giant set of barrel that you cna change and switch around. Am I right? If not, what the heck is a Freak Kit?

What would be a good Low-Pressure Kit for a 98 Custome?

Looking for a quieter bolt too, any suggestions?

Umm, also, the Gladiator Regulator, you need to have an adjustalbe tank? What the heck is that?

And anyone else want to give me adivce for tricking my gun out, not for appearances, but for preformance. I'd also like to keep the foreward handle b/c it help me out a lot. I feel like a butt and newbie asking this, but I don't reserach gear usually.

personally i dont think its worth it to pump tons of mone into "tricking out" a tippman, when you are done you will realize that you just wasted $600 on a tippman. i would say save your money, sell your gun, than buy a new one.

the freak kit is a barrel that you put sleeves inside of to make it fit certain paints better, there are 8 different bore sizes (i think?) you can also change the fronts for different lengths . . .

im not going to give you any suggestions on how to trick your tippman, because I think its a waste

Spend as much money that makes you feel comfortable. I've spent about 600 on my piranha.

And no you dont need an adjustable tank for the glad. A preset tank should be fine. Also I think you might need to get a Vertical adapter for your tippman so you screw in your Gladiator regulator to it. You might have to do some mods to make operator under 500 psi in order for the reg to work or it will screw up the intenrals.

Hey Venom

it dosn't take $600 to totally trick out a gun, especially since he dosn't care about appearance.

He could easily do it for $100, $200, $300, or $1,000

When done with my gun I will prob. of spent aound $350 including gun. and mine will be awesome. also $100 of that can be taken off my spyder and put on another gun. so I really only spent $250 including gun. and that aint bad. IMO.

Jackel. you don't have to buy a kit, you can just buy individual parts. if you want a list of the best things to get, you could pm in trauma, he has a tippman totally supped up (kinda ugly blue though)

well im just sayin that no mater what you put into it its always gonna be a tippman, so dont expect that if you put enough money into its going to turn into awesome gun, it will still be good though, just not as good as some other guns could be

there will always be a better gun.

so play with what you have and have fun.

it's also about skill and not just the gun remember. but I agree with you. If I had the money right now I would buy a minimag and not upgrade my spyder, but I don't have the money, so I will keep upgrading my spyder and not buy a minimag till I'm in my 20's prob.

A special note on the gladiator reg though. They dont work so great with screw in tanks. "Twitcho that doesnt make any sense and you're a god damn idiot!" you say? Well hear me out. The gladiator, while being IMO one of the 2 best regs on the market is super super sensitive to dirt. You get the smallest amount of dirt in your reg and the thing goes to crap real fast. If you have a screw in tank, you're constantly taking the tank on and off, leaving the possibility for dirt to get into your ASA, then through your air lines and eventually into your reg. This is bad news. If you have a non screw in tank, dirt should never get into your reg and everything should be gravy. If you think that as a player you can be super careful to not allow any dirt into your air lines, then by all means get the gladiator, it's great... but if you're not that careful a guy, you may want to consider another reg.

And no a bolt will not make your tippman any quieter except maybe the "super duper quietbolt3000" which is as of yet not invented, but I'm workin on it. It'll also give you increased accuracy, flatter trajectory and less ball breaks. PM me in a month when it's done

you said the mac dev was one of the 2 real good ones right now. what is the other one?

While me being careful, I don't think I will be able to keep dirt and sand out of my asa.

So what is the other one you like and does it do good with C02?

Actually, it would be the AKALMP sidewinder. A truly good reg, but kind of on the expensive side. If you want a reg that can take a whole lot of dirt and crap in it, yet still perform very well, the Air America Vigilante may be a good choice. I run one on my marker and I treat it like crap sometimes and have no problems :) If money isnt an object, the AKALMP sidewinder is definately gonna be your best bet, but it costs something around 120 bucks. If ya want something good with CO2, the stablizer is also a great choice. The stabilizer is actually designed around the idea of not maintaining it. That's right, you're not supposed to ever open it up and clean or lube it. It's excelent on CO2 and on Nitrogen, and it can handle crap getting into the reg pretty good

I was wrong about better than the Mac. Dev anyway'. it is $85 includding shipping.

Ok but still.

Riddle me this:

what regulator likes Co2 and will tolerate some dirt and other stuff, and dosn't cost $12 million dollars (right pinky goes to my mouth).

Palmers Stabalizer. It sex0rz co2 like a Glad does nitro :).

elTwitcho

Yeah, the stab works as good on CO2 as it does on nitro which is pretty damn good. The Sidewinder however, also works damn near perfect on CO2. It really depends on your operating pressure. If you want something super low pressure and high flowing, my money is on the Sidewinder even though the Palmers will still work very well at those pressures, the Sidewinder is just a better reg IMO

how about the Air America?

does it like C02 and dirt?

elTwitcho

Heh, Air America regs will work through anything :)

Paint Bulley

Mac Dev - don't like dirt
SideWinder - expensive
Stabilizer - expensive
Vigilante sounds good.

so vigilante will take Co2 and dirt. BUT does it come other than the red bottom black top? That is kinda ugly. (especially with a teal timmy (jk) :) .)

elTwitcho
09-24-2001, 02:39 PM
It works pretty good on CO2, so long as you have an antisyphon you're set :) There is an updated version of the vigilante called the AA messiah, it's slightly smaller but other than that looks the same. I believe it comes in all the colors of the rainbow last I checked. The AA vigilante comes in red/black and solid black. Or you can get it powdercoated for dirt cheap as well

Paint Bulley

does the messiah handle C02 better?

Who do I believe?

one guy tells me it handles Co2 ok.

another tells me it dosn't handle Co2 very well and he thinks it will void the warranty..

I geuss I better write the manufacturer (sp?) for a straight anwser.

THanks,

if anyone wants to tell me which one of the statements was closer to the truth, it would be appreciated!
