OK heres the deal... My cocking rod is screwed up somehow. When i take it out to adjust the velocity, i can screw it in like 2 turns then it becomes amazingly hard to screw in, and i cant get it in far enough so the gun wont cock... the threads on the end of the cocking rod arent stripped, but i think the place where it screws into is.... whats this part called and what do i do?

Thats the "hammer" and I suggest you get a new one. The threads for the rod are stripped Im sure. That sux man. Get a ShockTech "phat" hammer. they are nice.

Byte, thanks for the help, if it isnt stripped, the cocking rod would screw in and out very easily right?

my money is on your rod being stripped.....the hammer is made from some pretty hard steel...and the rods are much softer.....

the threads on the rod will look "flattened"...if they are "stripped" or the threads might be just damaged in one spot.(like s "bur" the is not letting screw in anyt farther)..or you might have cross threaded the rod or hammer.. ....and it might be just a couple of threads up from the bottom....

good luck.

It is called a cocking rod. The hammer is part of the pneumatics. Anyways i would say the threads are stripped.

yeah it is called a cocking rod...and it screws into the HAMMER

the hammer or (striker).part #46 on the autococker parts list...is what the cocking rod screws into...and that is what strikes the valve pin.....

so what "pneumatics" exactly is it part of????.

it might not be stripped it could be that you have something in the threads. Try cleaning the insides out real good. It could also be that a thread got dented and that would do it to. Go to your local pro shop and ask them to check it out first you may be able to fix it by running the right size tap through it

How do i take the hammer out... i dont know the terms real well... lol i know like all the parts but not there names... here goes..... the cocking rod is out, i then take out the brass fitting with a 3/16 allen wrench hole in the middle, and then i take out the spring. now how do i get the hammer out??????

ok..take the bolt out if you haven't already...take the grip frame off...you need to now raise the lug in the hammer with an allen wrench.....you slide in in the hole on the top if the gun....trough the top tube and into the bottom tube aand into the hammer and into the lug....and uncrew it until it is flush with the hammer body and it will slide right out....

hope you understand all that....or just go here and it has all the info you will need

and your will have to retime your marker when your done...

Okay heres the deal man. I had the same problem. Its your hammer. Its part of the phnuematics and inside your gun. The cocking rod screws into the hammer. Goto your proshop and just ask them for a new hammer to put in your gun.
