I just bought a new 2000 Autococker. After firing a few times out of the box, I had some problems. First of all, it keeps double feeding every time. The ball detente is brand new, so I don't know the problem. Next, it sometimes fires just air even if there is a ball in the chamber (does this a lot). The back block cannot seem to cock the rod, either. Lastly, the hammer gets jammed sometimes. I know this sounds like i just stripped the gun, hit the parts with a hammer, then put them back in, but I swear I didn't! All I did was mess with the velocity and timing. Please help! Thanks.

try turning the velocity up or down. Then work on pulling the trigger you are probably short stroking and double feeding it. If its firing just air you need to turn your revy on or get one. The gun shoots air into the hopper this is why you need a revy. That and you need one b/c you'll out shoot a normal vl200.

Oh ya forgot a question. If its shooting air even if theres a ball in the chamber. There is no ball in the chamber. This is a closed bolt system. So when you first pull the trigger it shoots the ball then opens the bolt closes with a new ball and waits for you to pull the trigger again.
O ya one more thing. YOU MESSED WITH THE TIMING YOU IDIOT!!!!! j/k.
Don't mess with the timing enless your gun is not shooting right. It comes timed. Go to a proshop and get them to time it for and ask them what they are doing so you will know how to do it. Ask them how frequently you need to time it.

When you can have it timed by a pro.... then get air and just constantly shoot it with no paint until you get the hang of it... thts what I had to do.

also make sure the cocking rod is in all the way cuz u said the back block isnt cocking it it could be that u messed with the timing (under the breath "idiot" lol j/k) or that the cocking rod isnt in all the way and also check your velocity i had the prob with the velocity also it was to low so turn it up a little

Hitting it with a hammer, and a newbie messing with the timing will end up with the same result - airsmith.
