alright i dont know much bout it .. but ill give it a shot
my friend got a 98 custom and with RT on it

alright well you probablyknow already that it uses excess gas..
think of it this way
you are holding the trigger down ..
when its pushed .. it fires .... and then the excess gas pushes your finger forward.. considering you arejust holding the trigger down .. it keeps firing ..
and no it doesnt fire when the trigger is let go..

so pretty much when you pull the trigger and hold it .. it keeps firing as long as you have paint in your gun and hopper ... coz the gas pushes your finger forward .. and you pull to fire.. so its kinda like an automatic gun .. cept for the pushing forward of your finger caused by the gas...

is there anything else?

thanks... thats what i thought it was... now i need to know if and how you change the rate of fire... and can u use semi-auto if u have a RT?

a 90 degree fitting screws into the power tube externally than a line runs from that to the rate of fire aduster. There is a small screw in the center that you can either screw in or out. If you screw it out then your rate of fire goes up. Screw it in and it goes down. This is what monitors how much gas goes to the piston/cylinder assembly behind the trigger. More gas going to it,the harder it pushes and resets. if you lightly pull the trigger it lets of one single shot. (thats no fun). If you pull the trigger all the way it will try to bounce back, but hits your finger and fires again (this is called sweetspotting). So you can effectively have both semi auto and mimicing auto capabilities with the rt trigger.

ok thanks... one more question... i have an xchamber, and will i have to switch it over to a new powertube to be able to use the RT? or can the little line thingy screw into my power tube i have now without having to unscrew my xchamber... (its a core 22stage chamber that screws directly into the power tube)

ViperDR

oh yeah... and do i need to go ahead and get a 14" barrel (i heard those were good) because the balls bust in a flatline?... if there are any other good barrels for around the same price tell me those too.

I dont think you'd need a new powertube. But why in gods name would you get that 22stage expansion chamber? I've seen em, and all it wil do is constrict airflow, nothing more. Hell palmer says more than 2stage (which is located in the bottom of the stab) is the best for co2. That thing has 22!

And yes flatlines are bad IMO. Preferance really, I say go for a cp 1peice for 40.

ViperDR

i already have the xchamber and it works perfect for me :D... oh well... nother question... im either getting a JT 2piece 14" barrel or a Dye Boomstick... which one would work better with a RT?

First of all the flatline doesnt bust balls but ive got a feeling you wont like it so i wont even recommend it but i love my flatline for my a-5. Forget those barrels you just mentioned you can get the same quality without all the mumbo-jumbo so go out and buy a lapco or a cp and i guarantee theyre just as good as the ones you mentioned im also gonna buy a new barrel maybe a lapco or cp or ill go crazy and buy that 200 dollar barrel that one of em tippmann effect guys got just for prestige, but thats just me.

Get the boomstick. Even though I think its overated and priced, still better than a flatline, by far for that matter.

ViperDR
11-17-2003, 04:48 PM
uhhh.... i DO have a flatline... and balls bust in it when i shoot as fast as i can... and if i get a RT then i KNOW they will bust... and i've just heard real good things bout those 2 barrels and i really want one... someone tell me which one i should get

ViperDR
11-17-2003, 04:50 PM
ok thanks... r u sure thats better than the JT 2 piece barrel tho? (i got to go up against some pretty good guns <im a rec player> and i want my gun to be pretty good) i have some good skill but their guns just overshawow my skill... so... lol i just need a better barrel with all my other upgrades im getting and i'll be set

11-17-2003, 04:57 PM
ok your damn wrong again! i have a flatline with a e-grip and it rips! ive never broken a single ball so if your breakin balls then somethings messed up with your gun my friend.

ViperDR
11-17-2003, 05:00 PM
ummm... im not "wrong" its my barrel... not ur barrel... when i got the barrel i thought it was defective... im talkin about MY barrel... lol lets keep on the subject. i found out that i want the JT 2 piece barrel... but i need to know what kind of bore size to get now. I shoot bluestreaks, marbilizers, dusks, and super swirls (which ever is more convenient to buy)

wheezy123456

ViperDR
11-17-2003, 05:07 PM
theres a .690 & .688 bore size selection lol thats right in between  still dont know which one to get... i need tiptop accuracy so i want to make sure everything is right

wheezy123456
11-17-2003, 07:16 PM
.68 works with just about most paint balls out there

ViperDR
11-17-2003, 08:33 PM
ok... im getting the .68 caliber paintballs... so do i need a barrel with .688 bore or .690 bore?... please answer with those only 2 choices...

bulletbill
11-17-2003, 09:39 PM
yes you do need to use the new power tube, it has a taped hole necessary for the new fittings. No it wont chop balls with the flatline. The only reason it should chop paint is if your hopper cant keep up or your using crap paint. The Flatline works just the same as any other barrel. The balls are still going 280 fps when they leave the barrel.

ViperDR
11-18-2003, 01:15 PM
ok... sooo... i just need a better hopper?... and the paint i shoot is not crap lol... its pretty good

bulletbill

a 12 volt revvy should get you about 12 bps max, but if you are bent on faster, get a halo b

ViperDR
11-18-2003, 03:00 PM
i want like around 15 or 16 bps... what should i get... HALO is like 20bps and too expensive for me to buy

ViperDR
11-18-2003, 03:02 PM
well wait... how many bps does a rt go up to?... cause thats what i'll need

bulletbill
11-18-2003, 03:38 PM
it can rip 17 bps max...i mean max. The blow back from the front bolt wont let balls into the gun without chopiing them above that.

wheezy123456
11-18-2003, 04:27 PM
He can try for 17 bps but i bet he wont get it.

11-18-2003, 04:43 PM
Dude get a reloader

bulletbill
11-18-2003, 05:26 PM
a evlution 2 can rip 17 stock, new chips can go up to 22 bps, and its a lot less than the other loaders

ViperDR
11-18-2003, 06:53 PM
i got an empire SAB reloader... i read that they go 16 bps... and it was the cheapest one for more than 13 bps... thanks for all of yalls help... i just have one LAST question... how can i tell when im at 17 bps on the rt?.... will i just know when my balls start chopin?

Your Flatline is sucking b/c you are putting crap paint through it, 'cept for the Dusk and the Marbs. You are probably setting your velocity too high as well, common mistakes for Flatline users.
If you are getting the CP or any other barrel for that matter and you have the option to go for a .690 bore get it. One an open bolt Blowback marker such as the 98C paint to barrel match matters much less than on higher end markers.
For a hopper a Reloader should do you just fine, but if you want to be a fancy pants get an EggII.

Here's some advice about high BPS:

In recreational play there is only one thing that high BPS is really good for, WASTING MONEY!!! Think of it as firing 15 nickels per second at your enemy. Every two seconds you're wasting a Buck and a Half on him, are your friends worth a buck and a half every couple of seconds? What happens if he gets you with three well aimed shots after your long bursts, you paid a buck and a half or more for a 15 cent trip to the dead box.

lol good point... but im gettin the rt so i can play some speed ball with about 30 ppl at once that all have autos... im bout to get a job (im just 14 right now) so i wont have to worry bout money as much... thanks for all yalls help... i just need someone to answer the question i just asked up there^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

you will know that your at 17 bps when you adjust it so it fires the quickest. Once the bps start to go down, you know you went to far with the adjustments. I think you'll get closer to 14-15 bps, since only a handful get around 17.

Surprisingly enough that name sounds kind of familiar(I'm sure that there is more than one Tidwell here though), I'll see.

You guys must be playing outlaw if the other guys are using full-auto, remember in regulated play F/A fire is very illegal. If you do not have a double trigger I reccomend that you buy one, I hear that it makes it a shade easier to sweet spot the r/t, it also lets you fire faster at fields where r/t is illegal. If you are using good paint you will have exactly ZERO trouble using R/T with Flatline, but on the speedball field unless you're in the back the Flatline isn't much of an asset anyway.

BTW If your Relo isn't fast enough you should probably break down for either a HALO TSA(bit more consistent feed) or an Eggy(force feed).

One more thing, if you are playing outlaw, and you haven't already, pool some cash between you guys and buy a chronograph, outlaw games are notorious for having hot guns(ours did).

ok its her... her brother Trace, her mom Dana, and her dad Bill... ok so if i play speedball i should just put my regular barrel on anyway?

Coenen

Unless you are on a field where you can utilize the Flatline's extra range always opt for a straight barrel. The Flatline is only really effective if you are USING that extra 50 or 100 feet of range.
