Spyder Regulator Leaking

I dont know if its supposed to be doing this, but I have a Java regulator on my Compact 2 in 1 and when I plug my newly filled CO2 tank into the regulator, this little valve pops out and lets some air out. It seems to be letting out a lot of air, but it slows down and eventually stops after a while. Is this supposed to happen?

is it right after where the reg is? that little silver thing that pops out? that happened to my shutter all the time too, you have to hold that down while you screw in your tank, than if it leaks just dry fire it a few times when ever it does it, it will eventually stop and should be ok . . .
