View Full Version : Pro Carbine questions
Hello, I am a newbie player and I am looking to get a better marker. I have a cheap Wal-mart gun. I was considering getting a pro carbine.
I have a few questions, however.
What barrel threads does the PC use?
How does the PC compare to the 98C? (Stock)
I see the PC costs about $144 but the 98C costs like $126 online. Is the PC built more durable, or what is the major difference between these to markers?

get the 98c The pro/carbine is older, less upgrades (including barrels) the 98c is an all around better gun. GET THE 98C!

get a spyder they soooo much better than any tippy
imagine
better than 98c and it has electronic frame
Nah, I am looking to get a Pro Carbine. How does it compare to a 98c stock?
I like the rifle feel of a tippman. I've used spyders and I like them, but call me stubborn, because I want a tippman!

ProCarbine Faq (http://www.pbreview.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=146738)
First of all, take a look at that, very useful information. The Pro Carbine is more expensive than the 98 Custom because of the type of body it uses, a 1 shell one. The 98C uses a two shell design which is way easier to make, and cheaper, therefore making the Pro Carbine more expensive.
Go for the 98 Custom because of the more upgrades...

I would suggest the 98C, not the the Pro/Carb isn't good, but it's not as good as the 98C.
The Pro/Carb costs more b/c its body is milled from a single piece of metal, whereas the 98 is cast aluminum.
The only upgrade that is easy to find for the Carb is the barrel, it shares threads with the A-5 if I'm not mistaken.
They are good for tinkering, but not much else.
What is with all of the Syder guys in here all of a sudden?
Thank you Coenen and Evilhomer, that is exactly what I wanted to know. But I don't really want a 98c. I want the pro carbine because nobody around where I paintball uses one of them. I see a lot of 98c (pretty much all stock).
I think the Pro carbine would suit me well.
The Pro carbine faq was very informative.
Thank You for your help!
