Ok heres the deal...I'm thinking of buying an impulse but I got a few questions....first how many shots do you think I would get off a 68ci 3000psi tank....kuz the action village web site says you'd only get like 400 shots but I've heard different things...also how do they run on co2...why go nitro over co2?...ok just a couple more...how do you change the shots per second (can you?)...umm...what kinds trigger should I get fer the shortest pull...ok last one I promise....can you buy the stock impulse with a vertical reg and if so where???

Thanx

On co2 your velocity will be +/- 10 (at least for me it is). On nitro its like +/- 2. Nitro is much better. Gas efficiency depends on the dwell setting.

Updated below:
I think my dwell is set for nitro. That might explain the bad consistancy. Nitro consistancy is not always +/- 2, but it'll be very good.

not really the case on consistancy, depending on if your running anti siphon or not and stuff like that. I know that i used to get +/- 6 on co2. Nitro is better. With the correct dwell setting you should get around 800 shots.

When you get your Impulse get it with the vertical reg!!

Changing the ROF is a simple procces and I don't think it should be done unless you have a vision. There is a pot on the board that allows you to adjust you ROF.

800 shots sounds more like it....thats plenty on one fill....I was kinda worried about haveing to fill my tank after every game if I got nitro but 800 shots for me is 2 to 4 games...unless I'm useing my phantom then I only use about 30 :P....oh and about the ROF thing...I wasnt planning on turning it up I just wanted to know if it was preset....sometimes you might want to lower it if yer useing crappy paint...l8z

800 shots lasts you 3 games? man...
wish that was the case for me... too expensive going through paint. kinda un-avoidable in tournaments, though.

impulses are great markers....
great performance, great value.

...I kinda llike the maxflow at the bottom, just with a gadget grip.

The Impulse can be a very efficent gun. the key is how it is set up. with a dwell setting that allows you to get about 280 fps at 180 psi, you could exspect around 1200 shots from a 20 oz CO2 and 800+ from a 68 3000

I would NOT recomend a 3000 tank however. The 4500 is a much better valve. a 68/4500 with a top of the line reg (like the center flag) will be in the $200 area Even if you don't normaly fill to 4500, the times you go to a turny or "Big Game' and do fill all the way will be worth it. And if you ever have to sell the outfit, a 4500 tank will retain a great deal more value then a 3000.

The Impulse with a vert max flo is advaible stock and makes a great package. You may want to talk to the place you are buying from to request they check the gun to make sure it is 100% Vision capable and has the double ball detents. If they are not willing to do this, you may what to reconsider where you buy it. If you are told "all Impulses are Vision ready" don't beleive it! I see a LOT of NEW Impulses taht would require milling to be converted to the Vision system.

hope this helps

i would totally suggest that u buy it with the vertical reg
2 reasons...
1. witht the reg up higher you dont have to worry about it as much it is pretty expensive
2. you can run any kind of tank that you want with the reg underneath you need to have a screw in tank

i bought mine with the reg underneath and now i am waiting for the vert reg adapter
it is supposed to be in a thrusday
ill post some pics next week when i get back to school
peace
