I notice everybody uses barrel condoms nowadays. Whats wrong with barrel plugs, I think they're more convenient.

If dirt gets on them they can scratch the inside of your barrel, and they can be shot off.

With all the rapid fire electro guns someone could bump the trigger and shoot the plug out and then hit your buddy with the next ball before you knew what was happening.

Yeah, both my local fields have banned barrel plugs because they're unsafe, condoms are required.

Its real easy to do that too, I shot my friend from 2 feet away with my barrel plug when I was a noob. He had to sit out a game cause it hit him right in the business section. Condoms are just safer from my experience...

wat ever you do, don't buy the ronin gear barrel condom...it sucks arse and it freaking lets pballs pass through~~!!

Everyone here has good reasons for barrel condoms and I just don't like the idea of putting anything down my barrel besides a squeegie and paintballs. I use the Empire barrel condom and I have had accidental shots and it works great and its made of neoprene which is very strong.

One of the first times I played PB I was standing in the safe zone, looking a dad standing over his kid (kid was sitting down) with the barrel pointed at his head. Sure enough, he accidently pulled the trigger and hit the kid square in the melon with the plug, resulting in lots of screams/crying (young kid). Ever since then I've known that plugs are just an accident waiting to happen.

Because of electros and increased ROF some insurance companies require field owners to use barrel condoms. Check with your field to be sure.

Our field doesn't require it, but we don't sell or provide plugs, only condoms.

They don't work so well. I was playing recball at a field. When the whistle blew I went straight up the middle. Some newbie behind me shot and had forgot to take the plug out. It broke, flew at me, hit me in the back, cut my jersey, and cut me up. It sucked. :|

hey Dark knight what is wrong with ur Ronin Gear Barrel condom? Mine is very durable and I've shot paint on accident a number of times. :D
Personally I prefer plugs because I always end up losing my barrel condoms on the field and my electro gun is always on safe so I don't have to worry about the plug being shot out.

A lot of the high-end electros don't have safeties. :( I have to shut my timmy off. That's the closest to a safety I have. I've seen a lot of plugs get shot out. I don't like them....

LOL... When I first got my timmy I was setting in the back of my montero sport ...tuning the thing in and almost lite up my back hatch. I wasn't used to having such a sensitive trigger :D

barrel plugs are to easily shot out, plus when you do shoot when your plug is in, its leaves one hell of a mess in your barrel and porting (damn teardrop lol)
condoms are the way to go, dont leave as much of a mess and dont get shot out

Barrel plugs- Shoot out easily in some cases.
Other times they may not fit certain barrels. Just get a barrel condom, alot easier and safer

man...you know how sensitive the trigger is on my black dragun...i had steve hold my gun for a sec while i put on my gloves and i shot THROUGH the barrel condom...he accidentally pulled 3 times, and 1 ripped it initally, the 2nd one opened it up even more, and the 3rd one shot straight out...of course i took it back to i&i and they gave me another one, but i only use it on my mechanical pirahna...i'll never use ronin gear again (i have many other complaints about the other gear that i bought of theirs) and for damn sure the ronin barrel condom is not going on my black dragun, my angel, or any other electro that i will ever own...

and i've been shot by a barrel plug too~~!! freaking hurts like hell~~!! :pissed:
