I'm 16 in Owensboro...I never play at arenas or indoors, I always play in the woods somewhere...I prefer the natural "battlefield" setting. A friend of mine lives in the country. They don't play very often, however, we are just rec players. I have a M98 Custom stock as of now. Getting advice on a good barrel then I'm adding expansion chamber.

Never played there. We play at paintball game of bluegrass in georgetown or Kriss Kross paintball's field in Sadieville (Kriss Kross is in Lexington)as well as on some private fields.

mac, if u are near lex you are about 4-6 hrs from Owensboro depending on the route you take and how much u break the law...Henderson is about 35 min west of Owensboro. I'm not sure where Splat Attack is, but I might find out since not many people play around here. I'm not into speedball or going against guys with guns that shoot walls of paint...like 10+shots per second. That is just having money to waste, not skill...those guys piss me off. Before I bought a gun I took out many of them with just a rented Stingray II, however that was the exception not the rule. I usually got plastered, but I was still able to compete with just a pump gun. Spraying paint just doesn't seem like much fun to me. Do they have any games/nights/courses where it's just semi's or semi's and pumps only at Splat Attack? I hope so.

we play hopper games there most of the time since many people doesn't have a lot of paint. the people at splat attack are real nice too. there is a lot people there with tippman 98's and a few with an automag ( but they're having probs with them, except for the RT) there is a few people that has nice guns(like a shocker or any other exspensive gun) that shots a lot of paint but since we play hopper games they get out early. and me, i have a stingray II ice which is doing ok. so far i only got one person out with it. I'm kinda of a newbie too. I don't really know how to get there. I have a friend take me there and i don't pay attention where we go.

lol...how old are u bro? Why don't you at least get an M98...I'm just a rec player but I did invest in an M98. I like the idea of the hopper games...I hate ppl that spray paint.

Are they open year-round @ splat attack?

i'm 14 and the next gun i'm going to get is either a tippman 98 or sypder compact ( most likely the 98) and they do play year around. You should play there.

Cool, I'm ordering an M98 by the end of this week or the beginning of next week. I have spent about 3 weeks looking at reviews, reading websites, and talking to local players and pro shop workers about paintball guns and everyone has said the M98 is durable, reliable, and it's a really good price. The Spyder can't even compare to the M98. Go for the M98, it won't let you down. If you have any Q's about M98's, let me know. I'm pretty much a newbie myself, but I do know quite a bit about the M98 and upgrades.

As for Splat Attack, I'll probably make it over there sometime at the end of this month or beginning of November. I wanna play with my gun and get used to everything b4 I go & pay a field fee and stuff.

Thats cool if ur getting a 98. I decided that the 98 is going to be my next gun. At splat attack they play like every other saturday. I'll PM u when i find out the next time they r going to play. Also there is no field fee and u can bring ur own paint. U can buy paint there if u need to. I think they have 32* or zap paint. I'll also find out if they'll be playing in the woods.

So does it work like one saturday is woods, then the next saturday will be speedball? Also find out exactly what paint they sell and how much for how many rounds, if you can. Thanks. I use PMI Premium for like $25 for 500, but that's really not a good deal. Let me know what their paint prices are.

They play both wood and speedball games on the same saturday. they have 32* paint. its $6.00 for 200, $12.00 for 400. thats all i know about paint prices. I think they r playing sat. but i can't go because i have to save the money for the school trip to florida next tuesday.

You all need to go to Ohio County Park Paintball Field in Hartford, Ky. It's about 20 miles South of Owensboro. There are no field fees & it's BYOP. There's going to be a up-coming story in APG about the field. There is also a Pro Shop near by that sells paint from $10-$13.75 for 500rds and 2000rd. cases from $36-$54. You can visit their web site at www.kypaintball.com
The 98 Custom is a good choice. You need to check some of the mods available at HPS Performance for the 98's.

How much does that place charge for CO2 refills? Xtreme Paintball charges 25cents an ounce, but I haven't been in paintball very long so I don't know if that's a good price.

BTW, who does the website for that shop? I'm not a professional site designer, but I do make websites, and I have a digital cam so they could have more pics and much better quality. Talk to the owner or manager of the shop and ask him/her if they would like to see some of my work and/or talk to me. I've never really done a website that I used all my ability on because most of them have been for me or friends and I've just tossed them up in 3 or 4 days (that's working on them between school and work so we're not talking about that much time put into them.) Anyway, you can see what some of my work looks like just from a little effort, I can do much better, but I do think these pages are better than what's on kypaintball now. The website can have a message baord, emailing list, news (which can be updated from any computer very easily), etc. Well, lemme know what you think.

SITES I HAVE BUILT:

http://hoosier.hypermart.net - I built this site as an on-line guide for a paintball game I played. The game was shut down, so I no longer update it, it has been over a year since any updates and this was the first page I built.

http://www.thelostsouls.f2s.com/news.shtml - This site is down right now (10/12/01)because of the webserver, not me. I built this for a team of the game I play.

http://www.clan-usa.f2s.com/ - This is my newest site also for a team (called a clan).

Keep in mind all these sites aren't my best work becaue I mainly did them for myself just to get a website up. I can do better. Any features on these sites can be done for the store site (calendar, news, message board, etc). My email is tblythe@adelphia.net if they are interested.

I'll talk it over with them about the site design and let you know. As for Co2 fills it's.

9oz $1.50
12oz $2.00
14oz $2.25
16oz $2.50
20oz $3.00

Nitrogen fills are $1.00 per-1000psi. up to 4500psi.

When set up at the field, it's only $5.00 for unlimited Co2 fills & $8.00 for unlimited Nitrogen fills for the whole day.

OMG! I knew xtreme was over-priced on most of their stuff, but I can't believe about the CO2! That's amazing. Do they have anywhere that you can play woods games down there?

Ridge Boy

There is a regulation PRA 3-man/5-man speedball field surrounded by open brush fields, and woods. Over on the other side of the parking lot, there is a large area of woods that has two lakes in the middle with a large hill over looking them. We are wanting to build the ultimate big game field in that area. You can play there now, but we are wanting to build forts and add other effects also. All in all the total size of the fields is 20 acres.

DEAR LORD!!!

IT'S PAINTBALL HEAVEN!!!

*slaps self* Have I died????

BTW: Is this the same place that has the FREE field admission and it's BYOP?!?!?!

Ridge Boy
10-14-2001, 02:10 AM
Yep, it's the same place. The field is owned by the county and located on the county fair grounds. The only time there is a field fee is for tournaments or big game events. Most of the entry fee from these events go for prizes & the rest goes to the fair grounds for up-keep of the field (mowing, bathrooms, etc.). You can go and play at the field any time but the gate to the parking lot is open every Saturday from 10am.-6pm. Oh, and the field is fully insured by the fair grounds. It's not a renagade field.

Is it only open on Saturdays? It won't suprise me if it is (because that's normal, lol). I was just asking bc I work every saturday night and I live an hour away, but I could get up and leave the house by about 9 (I'm about an hr from Beaverdam) but I'd have to leave by about 2:30-3:00 bc I have to be at work at 4:30. That would give me a little less than 5 hrs, but that's better than nothing, eh? Thanks for the info.
