on atippmann 98 when there is a ball in the chammper it makes a pretty good seal the only ball that got wet was the one in the chamber

What about your hopper? The little hinged elbow tippmann uses isn't exactly watertight, it seems like water would just gush in thru there.

there's also a huge hole in the side of the elbow to alow it to be clamped down onto hoppers...water could just pour in from there as well....

Ya, cool story, but the part about the paint not getting wet is BS. A tippy with a hopper full of paint, fully submerged, isn't watertight.

Depending on the angle of subermegence...
Water could enter through the lid (the hinge area on the lid is not watertight), between the elbow and body, and chamber as it is an open-bolt marker.
The water could force the air out...and get the balls well...

 I was actually laughing at that.
Now, as for the story, if it's a true story you're writing about, then you should at least make it believable. Well, all I know is if I did that to my marker, it would never speak to me again. :|
