ight,
i have a spyder shutter and I want to buy an akalmp body kit and put all my parts in it. The only thing is i am confused by the note that says, this body will not with the new smaller spyder sear found in the shutter, tlplus, and some other models. Now what does this mean. Im confused between the sear and the striker. The striker is the little black thing with the hole in it that attaches to the bolt when you put it in the back of the gun. Please get back to me quickly. Ohh yah and I lost my instruction manual so dont ask me about that.
Your sear is the tempered(maybe) piece of metal that holds back your hammer. Your hammer strikes the valve. Pulling the trigger pulls lifts one end of the sear, which lowers the opposite end, and hence releasing your hammer to cycle.
If this new body doesn't fit the new sear I would NOT buy it. The newer Spyders have an average trigger pull as it is, the older ones are really long trigger pulls. By haveing to use the old sear, you'd be down-grading!!! Your trigger pull would be crappier!
The newer Spyder trigger sear is smaller and has to travel less distance to fire of the 'gun. If the "upgrade" body doesn't fit the newer parts, why would you want it?

first off, I have an electric trigger frame so my pull would be the same. And i want to get a new frame so i can mill it and anodize it, its vert feed so i get a higher feed rate, and its more suited for low pressure.
Uh.. your sear is in your grip frame. If the new body cannot accept large sears, then your elec grip won't work.
You gotta find out if your elec grip is compatible with the new frame. IF it is go for it. If you don't look down the top of the 'gun, i guess you're not worried about the straight feed blocking your sight. The vert feed is only 1.6 balls a sec faster. I can't notice the diff, but again, if you're set on it... go for it.

i rechecked with my friend at a local store and said my frame will work with the body. I guess it was just a miscommunication. and I think i should notice a change in feed rates at 15 bps. Not that id really use it in a game:)
still, new bodies are cool. And maybe one day that 1.6 balls a sec more will come in handy! :)

yah im still haveing trouble deciding on how to mill it. I was thinkin skeletonize the back bolt section and get some design on the front. that should look awsome.
