Sure manufacturers like Kingman provide customers with a wide selection of markers but almost everyone ends up replacing/upgrading/modding parts. This results in extra parts you may never need again (or parts you can't use again, if there's been a modding disaster).

Then there's the different millings of all these markers - some are willing to pay extra just for looks while others aren't.

Now what if there were such thing as custom designing your marker before you buy it? It can be done with t-shirts, computers & cars (to an extent), why not paintball markers?

People can go to a website & access some flash program where they can choose body type (cocking preference, milling & ano), grip type (mech/electro, stickies/panels color), v/a (color, basically), foregrip (reg, xchamber:rolleyes:, neither), line/hose (macro or ssb), drop, etc.

Questions, comments, good idea/bad idea?

there was a website where you could design your own Tippmann

e-paintballoutlet lets you do that with Rats, you just can't see what it will look like.

But with the Tippmann one you could see what it would look like but couldn't buy it.

I don't know it would be ALOT of work.

i suppose it would be a lot of work. couldn't leave it to an assembly line. it would be similar to todd mcfarlane toys - individuals working on each one.

well the ones pennywisdom is talking about are at tippmann.com & e-paintballoutlet.com, i'd imagine, but he'd have to clarify.

the design-a-marker idea i had doesn't exactly exist, really, aside from what he mentioned. i just thought it'd be a good idea.

This is the link (http://www.bishoptechnologies.com/customizer/Customizer/?O=5&C=90&g_1=&g_2=90&g_3=&g_4=&g_5=&g_6=&g_7=&g_8=&g_9=&g_10=&g_11=&g_12=&g_13=) to the site where you could see what parts look like on a Model 98. It was an awesome site. It sucks that it just randomly disappeared. :(

This is a great idea, however there's a big drawback.

Price.

Yep. Even for a blowback.

I'm just making a prediction, but I'd say a customized and hand-built blowback would probably range about $500 dollars. Simply because it is not mass produced, and individual parts are very expensive.

considering the price range you estimated maybe this isn't as good of an idea as i thought. there's a handful of higher end markers available for that much.:|

doesnt really matter. You can usally tell which is the best by how much it cost. As for the body frames, you just go for looks really
