What do you think about carrying a paintpistol on the field as a backup?

Most fields won't let you carry it onto the field. As a backup... well, your marker probably won't die during a game as long as you care for it.

Use it as your primary in woods though, it's what I do with my PGP when I'm playing woods (which, thankfully, isn't too often).

I think secondary side arms should be used in scenario games/ maybe speedball to

if i get one i'll carry it with me all the time. i'd of loved to have two markers in my hands b4. It'd make multi target shooting a lot easier.

But what if you were using a PGP

simple.....

....don't buy a pgp if u plan on using it as a side arm

ok a side arm is a gun that u use also......a back-up is used if your gun breaks so not all side arms are back-ups and vice versa. :D

Shouldnt there be a poll in this thread titled...'Poll: Sidearms'?
Anyways, my friends has a "side arm". Its a PTX and I think it looks cool and if I had the money, I would probably buy one, but everytime he shot it, the paintball would go like...20 feet or less then start curving to the groung.

Useless unless you are crawling or in very close quarters

the zeus is actually a very nice pistol. Its reliable, tough, shoots like 280 consistantly, and has tons of upgrades. The only upgrades i'd get for it however are the quick change adapter and a holster. I'd have it in a holster 100% of the time and sometimes leave my primary aside and use that instead

so, Tom Kaye = newbie?

i dont care weather u guys think sidearms are noobish or not. All i know is that people say they are mad fun to play with. So i figure i got a nice gun, nice video game system. Why not spend the $90 to get a pistol. Plus it might help my skills. Its basically the same as using a pump... almost. Now why do you have to go around saying pistols are noobish?

TK wasn't using the Sydarms as sidearms... he was using them as his primary.

There's a difference between carrying a pistol in a holster on your thigh and using it as your primary marker.

Did Tom Kaye make that Sydarm pistol?

I didn't think so, I thought it was a custom job.

Sidearms are impractical because you'd only get ten shots out of it, unless you are also carrying tubes on you, and extra Co2 cartridges.

You're basically just delaying the inevitable. You've bought yourself a ten-shot lease.

ooo, thats what they are saying is noobish? ok, yeah i would say so two. I highly doubt i would use a pistol as a sidearm, i might use it as a backup since my parents most likly wont let me buy a backup.

AGD made a run of Sydarms to be sold to the general public in the early 90s, but because of the problems with liquid CO2 in the 'Mag valve, they started selling them only to cops. But yes, it was an AGD design, not some custom design in someones garage :)

I have seen guys try to use airsoft pistols with smaller paintballs before, they're not allowed on the field. It's noobish and I don't see the point of using a sidearm on the field, maybe in woodsball, but I still won't waste money on one.

Wrong. Sidearms=scare the piss out of newbie.

I'm going to start carrying squadbusters just to scare the crap out of the newbs.

SpyderHunters Rules For Success
1. Carry grenades
2. Throw dirt chunks at newb bunker
3. Scream 'Fire in the hole!'
3. Shoot fleeing newbs

i wouldn't use em as sidearms; i'd use one as my primary. i'm still trying to get a hold of a zeus or two. the field i usually play at has 2 woods fields, 1 air & 1 hyper.

i'd only use em on the woods fields though. bringing any pistol-style marker onto a speedball field is just asking for trouble.
