By decreasing the operating pressure of your cocker you can make it quieter and more accurate. If you make your cocking pressure lower (to around 50psi) then your gun won't chop paint.

If you want to just decrease the operating pressure you can buy a newer, higher flowing valve. Although 2000+ cockers run at about 250 psi stock, which is pretty good and any lower isn't going to make to big of a difference. But a higher flowing valve also makes your gun more efficient.

To take down the cocking pressure to around 50psi you need some nice pnuematics. Really high flowing valve (like akalamp valve), a weighted hammer and a lightened main spring. Then some time spent tuning it. Or you could just try to buy freeflow autococker parts because this is what freeflow cockers do.

Being someone who mods this little forum I call home, and being a LP cocker user for some considerable amount of time, I would agree with all but one point of that. Stock 2k1 cockers can run no lower than about 375-400. You would HAVE to have a high flow valve (Tornado, Rat) to get it below that.

i'm interested in that valve too. I hope it performs as good, as the other products they make. And it's a great price too

I'm running the new maddman rocket valve....there are a couple of cool things about.it......one....the spring is on the valve stem behind the valve.....two you set the "dwell" on the valve....(it's adjustable)....and the valve opens all the way...no matter what the velocity is....

His thinking is that for a consistant marker the valve should open the same amount every shot....so adjusting your velocity is done at the regulator...not at the hammer spring....

my marker is now running 260 psi at 298 fps..+/-2fps...which is pretty low for just a valve change.....

I was running with a stock valve.....400 psi and 290 fps....+/-10 fps

this is just my experience with this valve....but if you do go with this valve be sure to go to their web site to learn how to set it up....the instructions that come with it don't really tell you anything.....but how to install....and it isn't very clear that you have to go to the site to learn how to set it up before you install it....

How does this sound for making my cocker low pressure?

-MacDev R.E.D. valve
-MacDev Gladiator reg.
-MacDev sonic pneumatic reg.
-AKA lp spring set
-Freak System (does this have too much porting to be used on low pressure cocker)?

How does this setup for low pressure sound? Do i need a guage on my gun or can i go somewhere and let them test the pressure for me? Do i need a new bolt?

sounds good to me and since your crazy (remember i'm crazy) to go so low pressure you deny your right to a good barrel. even if you have to raise your operating pressure 20-50 for the Freak (which i don't know) it is still worth it, just use some Marbs on the All American Front version and you can get like a 5x6 inch spread at 55' (acording to a test at paintballtimes.com)

operating pressure is not really something you can set right off the bat, that is why a chrono graph is very helpful while setting up a LP marker. but if you don't have one just go to the field after everything is ready and bring some allan wrenchs to the chrono. Don't go for the lowest possible, just find a good pressure, set it there and go out and use the gun, make sure you play just normal games for a while, a new reg not broken in can cause shots to jump, bad for serious ball, but after about 1-2 cases everything will be set in

So this is everything i need to know to make all of my stuff work correctly. Will the timing be hard?

nope....with all that you will need to get a spring kit so dial in your marker's valve...

after getting my valve to finally seal and with a little spring swapping.....I am now shooting sub 200 psi.....

so the springs are very important in getting it to run the best it can....

I recomend the maddman spring kit....but I am sure there are others out there....

Im thinking of making my cocker low pressure. What is a good barrel for low pressure sense extensive porting on low pressure is bad?

question: Do any of you have a equation barrel with the porting in it and a silencer muzzle? I think this might b too much porting but pics didnt look like that much. So i am asking. I want this kind of barrel setup (ported and silencer) Because i have heard it fire with those things and all i could here is the click of the cocker. But is wasnt a lo-pressure one.
