Yes I'm new. Last time I played was in March. I'm going back to the same place in less then 2 days with a lot more friends. What I really need to know is what type of gun should I get that is below $200 and that is upgradable. Lots of people have Spyder Compact 200 and have upgraded them, but is that what I should get after having to go through an Avenger that doesn't even work properly. I don't feel like wasting money.

Piranha's are the absolute best way to start out. They will never break and they always work well. Your Spyder buddies will be changing springs and cleaning their gun's because most of the lower end ones are sidecocking. You can get a very good one used for 200, try the Piranha Pro, it has some very cool colors. These will work on Co2 and Nitro and are very accurate, I know because I have an STS G2 and it is very acurate with the stock barrel. Another good gun would be an Automag but they are a little more expensive. I own both guns and highly reccomend the Piranha Pro, STS G2, and STS G3.

Buy a Shutter for about 200. I've had mine for a while, and it has not had a SINGLE problem. Not to mention you don't need to upgrade it at all. People complain about the Exp chamber, but it does the job. People say the reg and gauge break, they don't. It also looks so damn sexy and accepts nitro. If you want, get a spring kit for like $5 and lower your operating pressure by 200 psi or so. Barrels and parts are plentiful, but Spyders don't need much attnetion beyond cleaning and oiling. The Shutter is also a rear cocking model so you don't have to worry about dirt and crap getting in.

-Sypder Compact 2000 (85)
-WGP reg from a cocker (used for like 20)
-Lapco autospirit/bigshot alum or ss, J&J ceramic, or cp barrel (40-70ish for the lapco ss)
-Hoses macroline not microline or steel (10 for macro - 25 for steel)

Total: 155-200 usd

This is like the 5th post like this tonight...hehe and I keep putting down similar stuff. I seriosuly think this would be a great combo though. Remember, all these guns were designed for co2 and will run rather well with it, especially with the wgp reg. But any of them can be switched to HPA. In fact almost all lower end guns can use HPA with no problems.

Id like to see a spyder go down 200 psi just because some retard shoves a new spring in there.
