Ok, so I got into paintball via a friend, and I've decided to get a gun. I've looked at all the online stores and retailers, and finally settled for an Eradicator set from Wal-mart Here's the link. super duper gun (http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.gsp?product_id=1956618&cat=85990&type=21&dept=4125&path=0%3A4125%3A56723%3A85990)

anyways, the reason I chose this is because I don't really have plans to join tournaments or a team, just to play recball with a couple of friends and my bro, who's also getting the set. Now I need to know if I should get this, and if not, then something within that price range, cause between the two of us we only have $130 to spend, and we don't know what type of gas to get or how they work.

All help is apreciated, thanks.

Dont buy Walmart brand please, instead buy a Tippmann.

That tippman looks great, and I've looked at spyders, viewloaders, etc., but the problem is I only have $70 to spend on the gun, and that has to include the mask, gas and hopper.

Oh, the other option I had looked at was the viewloader orion, since it's at $60 at sports chalet, but I can't find a good combo deal for a mask, squeegee, and co2 tank...

Why don't you buy lower-end spyders instead?

Whoa, I hadn't checked those out. Thanks a lot, I'll probably get the spyder victor. Now do you know where I can find a gogle/gas combo for like $20-30? It can be the cheapest, I don't care.

The best answer is : Don't skimp on goggles (Thermal lenses recommended)

But for that much money I can't help....:(

Another option is to buy used. It's not the best solution but you can get your start cheaply by buying used equipment. I dont however recomend purchasing rentals though. Even in a space of one year they are pretty well worked over and will not be reliable.

If you want to get decent equipment you're gonna have to scrounge up a little more than $70. I'd reccomend a Spyder Victor, 12 oz Chromoly tank, and vforce armor goggle system all from pbfanatics.com. It totals out to about $82.

The best gun in your price range is the new spyder imagen two gun it only 10 more that the old imagen but has expasion grip.the old modle only has a bottem feed. The gun with expasion chamber will help give the gun more stable shots with c02. With the new model it alows you to upgrade the gun later if you want to.

You people are missing the point, he needs everything for the price he listed, not just the marker.

I would suggest checking out the Buy/Sell/Trade forums on here. you can get everything you need in your price range if your patient while searching.

If you have to buy new then get a v-force armor mask. At paintballgear they're less than 20 bucks and the only cheap mask I would ever consider buying. As for markers in that price range, go with kingman.

ok, that spyder kit from pbfanatics looks great. The problem is that I have 80 bucks tops to spend on the gun, mask, gas, and hopper. Do you know where I can find cheap kingman kits?

I don't know about any Spyder kits in your price range. I suggest that you go with that Eradicator package because it fits your price range and you get pretty much everything you need. It may be Brass Eagle, but I know someone who has an Eradicator and it is better than some of the other Brass Eagle markers. Brass Eagle is not the best, but it is a good way for new paintballers to try the sport. If you end up finding out paintball isn't the sport for you, you wouldn't have wasted that much money. If you like it, you can save up and get a better marker. Brass Eagle is good for beginners looking to try out the sport. Also, this means both you and your brother will both have a marker. Always remember, paintball is supposed to be fun.

Thanks, so I'll stick with the Eradicator set. Now do you know what gas I should get? I don't really know anything about it, but my main question is this:

Can I get like 1 9ounce tank for both guns? Or does it always have to be attatched to the gun? Does it just fill it up like gasoline or waht?

jonbob

That gun needs to have a fully pressurized tank screwed in at all times to function properly, so you'll need the same number of tanks as guns. Keep in mind that you'll have to fill a 9 oz tank every 400 shots or so (I think that's the right amount).

Are you playing at a commercial field or in a backyard with your friends? If you're playing outlaw ball then you'll need a bulk tank to fill your smaller tanks up from or know of a store where you can get CO2 fills. If you decide to do it yourself then check out warpig.com for some good safety tips. You may want to invest in a larger tank if you don't have convenient access to a bulk tank because you may run out of CO2 otherwise.

Are you sure? Well ok, so do you know where I can find a 2-pack of 9 ounce CO2 for like $30-35? I don't have a problem getting them refilled, there's a local field that can offer refills every time you play there, the problem is getting the tanks cheap, cause I've made up my mind to get that.

And can I use the little 12 gram or 4 ounce one-time-use packs without an adaptor on that gun?

Thanks.

To add on to that, you don't want to use 4 oz tanks, they really are a waste of your money. Spend the money now to get a bigger tank like a 12-20 ounce (I prefer 20), and you'll save money in the long run.

Some of you guys are not getting the point. He wants a marker in the price range he listed. Anyway, didn't he already decide on an Eradicator?

sandiego
12-18-2003, 07:27 AM
Yeah, I guess the eradicator is the only gun in my price range. So I need to have the CO2 conected at all times, ok. I can get 9 ounce refills here for 3 bucks, so should I get 2 9oz tanks?

How about the PMI Black Maxx package from xpaintball.com? It has everything I need, including a tank. Is it any good?

jonbob

I'm pretty sure the black max package will be better than the brass eagle one.

the balck maxx would be better than the brass eagle one, but is it any good?

i think u should go with the victor at paintballgear.com like the other guy said. u just need 10 dollars more total than u have to get a mask, Co2 tank, and a 4 dollar hopper , which will prolly cost u about 90 bux total. jsut save up a little longer.

ya save up a little longer, you will be happy you did. If you get a be it wont last long and you will hardly get to play with it cuz it will break down. My first marker was a BE silver raptor it always broke down when i went i always ended up using rentals ne ways. Now like someone said dont skimp on the mask, paintball isnt fun when your goggles are fogged all the time and you cant see.
