If the impusle operates at 180 psi then how doe sit get any range? A tippmann 98 runs at 750 psi so will the impy have just as good range? I need some one to explain this too me thanks

It has just as good of range as any other gun, but now I feel stupid because I can't explain exactly why that is.

low pressure just means how much foce the bolt hits the ball with.... impulse is 180 punds. your 98 is 750 pounds of pressure.
doesnt mean less air is bieng used by the gun.
my matrix runs at 110... a little less than a shocker...
just less of a chance of chopping.

range is great on all 3 LP guns (matrix shocker impulse)

range is due to fps of the gun and paint to barrel match, so any gun that has the same as another will shoot the farthest, The reason lp guns shoot the same as 750 psi guns is that 180 psi uses more volume of gas to propel a ball than one at 750 psi. a m98 uses a pop of air with alot of pressure the imp uses a relitivly longer pop to use more air to propell the ball.

I think the problem you are having is looking at the Wrong varrible. There are two factors that combined determine range. The BC of the paintball (basicly how "streamlined" it is) and the speed it is travling. If we leave the ball as a constent (shoot the same ball in both guns) then the only thing that effects range is the veloicity.

That is all a fancy way of sayong that once the ball leaves the barrel, if its going 300 fps from one gun and 300 fps for the other, both balls will go the same distance.

Now there is a lot of theroy about the low pressure "push" vs the high pressue "pop" but this has a lot more to do with how the guns handel paint then how far they shoot.

Of course all this assumes we don't do anything to the ball to create "lift" on the ball. This is why the flatline shoots so far-- because it puts a great deal of spin on the ball that creates lift.

Yeah, I thought it was something like that.
