Hi guys,

Yes we, Panther, are having a tourny on October the 28. It will be a 3 man event on our brand new sup air field. If you guys want more infor check the website at www.pantherpaintball.com. We ar going to be having a 50/50 draw and the ever popular goodies toss this year.

What would you guys like to see for prizes in each division. We have an idea as to what to give out, but I would like to hear some input from those that plan to attend as to what they would like to play for. Just keep in mind that rookies are NOT going to get big pricey high end guns for first place, as a matter of fact I dont think the amatures are going to either :)

Redesc: Where are you getting your info on the Frontline tournie? The november 25 and 26 one? If it's coming from their website, don't get your hopes up. This year the 25 is a Sunday and the 26 is a Monday, no one holds tournies on those days. Also, that particular ad was from last years event and hasn't been pulled from the website yet. Lastly, last years event was cut short to just a one day tournament because of such a poor turnout.

Not neccesarily, we don't want to screw the rookies or have them walking away feeling cheated.

Redesc
10-03-2001, 08:14 PM
ahh ya, hmm hey do you guys need any help at the tourny?

B.C.P8ntballer
10-03-2001, 08:29 PM
Thanx for offering, I might take you up on that offer, right now I think we have it under control, but an extra pair of hands never hurts. Why don't you play? I'm sure there are going to be people looking for an extra body to play.

10-04-2001, 09:18 PM
i dont know, in my opinion, guns arnt good prizes unless they are high-end guns. Its cool getting something you can use, or sells for quite a bit.... but i guess its hard with rookie

Redesc
10-04-2001, 09:20 PM
ya i know, but whatever its rookies :P but its kinda werid that some amateurs can go to rookies again but whats the point of that :P whats the best prize youve seen?

B.C.P8ntballer
10-04-2001, 10:09 PM
I dont think that Shawn gave out guns to the rookies at Ambush. Based solely on what our prize package was, usually first place Am wins more than first place Rookie because of the higher entry fees and yada yada yada. But I could be wrong, I had to skip the awards ceremony because of prior commitments.

At Havoc we are thinking of giving away something like: Diablo jersies, matching V-Force goggles, and gloves. We plan on having different colors for everyone, but you would win three of the same color to look like a team. We also have some other ideas in mind, but won't know what the actual prize package is until a week or so before the tourny.

Kashik, I know your joking but, rookies would never get Angels or Eclipse cockers for prizes. Not even the NPPL gives out prizes like that to Rookies. Heck sometimes they don't even give that out to a Novice A or B team.:P

Redesc
10-04-2001, 10:31 PM
ya , be kinda amazing if it did happen :P

but ya jerseys and goggles would be a good prize for rookies, cheap guns if they ever got would be just feeling cut out. if you give them lots of extra stuff would be a great prize, i would love to win a v force morph goggle :D

i am so at the tourny playing in rookie how big is the sup air court and about how many bunkers. i live 10 blocks away from panthers field. googles would be nice. and do you guys bump up the ringer teams?

B.C.P8ntballer
10-06-2001, 06:15 PM
Nah, I was just thinking of charging them $35 for a Spyder spring kit and $40/hour for labour on the guns that they bought from us :D

But seriously, we do have set rules as to what level of player someone is. We have been around long enough that we know many of the tournament players and what division they are supposed to be in. However, the rules allow a team to have one player from the next higher division to play with them. For example, a rookie team could have one novice player play with them, but not an amature player. We try our best to keep everyone playing where they are supposed to be. Belive me, there is nothing more upsetting then someone that just won't step up a level to the next higher division.

Our sup'air is twenty bunkers, and has it's own field which is roughly 100 feet by 200 feet. The problem is that the field PROBABLY won't be ready because it has no grass on it. What we are also thinking of doing is incorporating the sup'air with our existing speedball field.

Redz Gear Bag would be sweet for rookie, i can see that as a thing that helps people out a lot. Better than the JT Backpack thing.

hey you charge 40 bucks an hour for guns that dont come from your store honestly i find your prices to be higher than all other store except for co2 fills how about you ease up on some prices and i will buy more stuff from you cmon 26 bucks for a cupseal and 6 o-rings i cant aford that and 10 buck for 100 blaze paint off your field i buy zap for 65 a case of seconds or 5.50 for green hornet

B.C.P8ntballer
10-06-2001, 09:32 PM
$40/hour is not a high price to get your gun fixed correctly and in the shortest amount of time. And besides, why shouldn't we charge to fix a gun that wasn't bought from our store. We offer a lifetime warranty with all the guns purchased from our store and all of those guns are serviced without charge unless o-rings and seals are involved. The other way to null your warranty is to have someone else install after market products on your marker. Take your gun to any of the other stores and most often they will keep your gun for several days to fix it and quite often they don't fix it right. I've had many customers complain about having their guns serviced at another shop and I've seen supposed overhauls where the gun was never opened.

I don't know where your getting some of your prices from, but if you are reffering to the basic Spyder rebuild kit I'm pretty sure that they are $22, I don't have my price list infront of me right now so I can't confirm that, and our prices are set because of what our supplies charge us. Yes, even $22 seems steep for a few o-rings and a cup seal, but that price is slightly above what our cost is on the product. I'm sorry if you think our prices are too steep, but that's the price of being in business, it's also the point of being in business: to make money.

You think our prices are steep? Figure out what it costs to replace something on your car, or buy text books at University. Neither of these examples cost anywhere near what they sell them for, but that's life I guess. Paintball is one of the funniest businesses that I have ever been a part of.

Last point. When you mention paint prices, you are comparing apples to oranges. Blaze is a much higher quality of paint then Zap seconds is, that's why seconds are so much cheaper.

Redesc

ya i totally agree witht he prices, the prices aren't that bad, i wouldn't mind buying a gun from there especially with a life time warranty, i feel very very safe if i bought a marker from there, also i the prices on blaze paint is very resonable especially the quality, and zap is like zero to none. The paint is just not high standard quality, its more like a rec play paint.

also still what is a spring kit for a spyder do?

B.C.P8ntballer
10-06-2001, 09:45 PM
A spring kit allows you to do several things. The biggest thing that you can do is adjust your velocity. Secondly it allows you to have less wear and tear on your gun so that your internals last longer.

Halloween Havoc, ya, i think my teams going. And i think theres a good possibility that we will be sponsored by Frontline Paintball when we're there  so that would be amazingly sweet.

How did you guys get sponsored by them? What kinda benifits do you get when they sponsor you?

kashik
10-12-2001, 11:43 PM
we arnt sponsored yet, though i believe that theres a good chance we will be. We just know the guys that run Tsawwassen and Frontline really well. Just gotta talk with people. If we're sponsored we dont have to pay for tourneys, and we get to buy things from the store at a cheaper price.
