I once read something about the blow test but I can't find the post anymore. In a good paint/barrel match should the ball roll right throught the barrel or should it stay put? When I puff on the end of the barrel should the ball fly out effortlessly or should I have to blow on it until my cheeks hurt and my eyes water?

I have a SP All American barrel and I tried using RPS Premium balls, both of which are supposed to be rated medium bore size. I had a lot of barrel breaks which is inconsistant with what i've read about both the AA and Premiums. I think my bore size is .689 but since the AA is a 2-piece barrel the Premiums blow right through the front piece but fit rather snugly in the back piece. They fit so snugly that most of them can't be blown through the barrel before my eardrums burst. This can't be good can it? What exactly am I looking for in a good paint/barrel match?

you want to put the paint into the barrel, and it's not supposed to roll out, but have a snug fit.

Try to blow the paint out of the barrel, it should fly out with ease, if your face turns purple, and your eyes start to water when your trying to blow the paint out of the barrel, your paint is too large. switch to a smaller bore.
