i have a 98c ,
i was just wondering if anyone had any experience sith the smart part tear drop barrel, the reviews made it look pretty good. and its alot cheaper than the flatline
and also.. does anyone have any good's/bad's on the flatliine. its about 2 times as much but if noone thinks the teardrop is worth it.. ill prolly save up and get the flatline.
thanks for all the advice

IMO, I would get the Teardrop. Flatlines are hard to adjust, and a pain to clean I hear.

barrels are half the struggle... you gotta know what kind of paint you shoot the most.

Custom product barrels are very good from what I hear haven't gotten one yet but I'll be getting one next year.

get the flatline. They are not hard to adjust or whatever the heck that kid ment. Easy installation. I've never broken paint with my flatline.

Read the Flatline sticky.
Luckily for you I have both a Flatline AND a Teardrop. Use the Teardrop for playing front of middle and the Flatline for playing back. If you don't use the shroud(I know it's ugly) it makes the Flatline much more user friendly.
You could also get the Smart Parts progressive, it is basically the same barrel as the Teardrop but not quite as pretty.
Go to barrels and Paint and read through their Ultimate sticky, it has everything you will need.

If youre gonna be playing ALL woods, try the flatline out and see if you like it. If you plan on playing speedball at all get the teardrop, youll be happy you did. Its more useful for speedball and still very effective in woods, whereas in most cases the flatline is not that useful in speedball at all.

like bugrepel said..but i'd go with the progressive over the teardrop..just because of the price difference and I think the progressive might shoot clean better.
the tear drop doesn't shoot clean at all.
and it takes a good rinse to get rid of the paint in the porting.

thanks everyone.. ive been looking all day.. and does anyone now anything about like a 14 inch CP 2 peice barrel.. i was thinking that might be nice over the tear drop but i dont know.. i think ill get the flatline eventually.. but all my friends play more speedball then woodsball so i dunno i might do with the teardrop for a quickfiz untill i can get the flatline thanks everyone!
oh and i heard that if you close the end of the barrel and dry fire a couple of times it clears the ports pretty well does that sound sensible?

CPs are supposed to be good..I've never shot/seen one..but everyone on here seems to love them...
covering the barrel and shooting blows out the porting pretty good..but the tear drop has those like..recessed porting and the paint just dosn't come out very good...just don't shoot yourself in the knee cap when you're cleaning it out..

Go for a CP barrel. If not that, Lapco and J&J make the best one pieces out there (with price being considered to) as far as I'm concerned.

I wouldnt bother with a 2 piece, a 1 piece will be cheaper and just as good on a tippmann. Personally Id go with Lapco Bigshot over all of the above, but i guess to me my own.

The Flatline Barrel sounds great on paper, just like communisn....but then when you try it for real, you'll find that it isnt as good as its supposed to be.
One major drawback is that you have to send the barrel back to Tippmann to get it resandblasted because the barrel with 'wear itself out' after so many shots (which was about 4000 - 4500 for me, but hey, maybe a just got a crappy one).
Between the CP 1 piece and the Smart Parts Teardrop....
Never seen a CP 1 piece, but to me, it doesnt look nearly as good as a Teardrop, which I have seen and performs very well in woodsball. If the CP is better than that, it must be pretty damn good, then then I'd go with that....
If you cant make up your mind over choose the best one just do this....buy the cheapest one!

Communism isnt as good as it is supposed to be....what?
how about democracy and the lies from the right wing.
Democracy is not what it is supposed to be communism is what it is.
anyway this isnt a govt. thread but I wouldnt get a Freak JR. I like J&J ceramic barrels. CP 2pc is good too.
I have a feeling this is gonna be closed and you will get flamed for posting barrel question here. even if you are new to the site, the mods will have no mercy on you.
