Its been roughly a year since I have posted here, read the site, or been involved in the community that I spent so much of my time in. Now I question what is new with the community of paintball.
When I left guns were all similar in alot of regards. The only things that had differed were opinions. So Im not going to question about guns. Instead. What mods are there now that can increase a guns performance in any aspects?
Thanks,
Cindows XP

Basically, you can replace everything on any given marker. All the pneumatics and internals, frame and body on 'Cockers, any part (electronic or mechanical) on any electro...
If you want to replace it, there's like a 95% chance you can find one.

What gun?
There are many over-priced upgrades that improve a guns preformance marginally that will cost you the gun itself again...

lol, well thanks for the quick responses. But I already knew prior that about 80% of the guns internals can be replaced or you can find the source for them. The thing that I was curious about is if there are any newer modifications out that are big in the market that actually improve the guns (not any one in particular) that are on the market today.
Like how tapeworms, anti-siphon and siphon tanks, and other mods had changed paintball and how well guns performed.
I am not interested in any specific guns at the moment, I am just kinda seeing what is availible now adays, and I don't wanna wade through the tens of thousands of threads on the PBR site.

Well, regs are more consistent and we have really fast hoppers now...
That's all I can think of.

You can't forget the Equalizer board, from Wicked Air Sports. This board is uncapped, and it checks for trigger pulls about 1,000,000 times a second, allowing you to shoot as fast as your marker can cycle. This board also has eyes, which greatly decreases any chances of chopping. This will usually run you about $150, depending on the marker you want this installed in. I believe currently they're only available for Vikings, Timmy's, Excalibur's, and Impulses.

thanks you two for the info. I currently have a timmy, I will have to look into them, but you never said what the board was, or did I misread it?
What else is out there?
I had no idea regs were moving up these days, I would have thought something else was in the works to replace regs and stabs.

The WAS Equalizer is a circuit board that replaces the circuit board in your Timmy.
The only thing replacing regs are better regs.
Oh, on some higher end markers optical triggers are becoming popular. Instead of relying on a switch to trigger the firing of the marker, a laser beam is broken when you pull the trigger, telling the board to fire the marker. Some triggers also have magnetic returns instead of springs, but that's been around for a couple years.
OH!
The E-Blade and Worrblade for Autocockers. They make any Autococker electric by replacing the frame with an electric frame and the 3-way with a solenoid. E/Worrbladed 'Cockers are ungodly fast. There's also the Raceframe for the 'Cocker which does basically the same thing, except works a bit differently. For some more details, the Worr forums hold your answers.

barrel kits have become semi cheap and very plentiful

yea, got a few nice barrel kits and such lying around. its just i have not played paintball since last years michigan monster game, got busy with the company, so I am just looking for some good info on technologies out there.
I knew the board was replaceable. I also seen that the 2k2 timmy i have has hoses in it, or what it seems like hoses and what not. crazy.
I was looking into cockers for a while there. Now im looking more into scenario guns and tourny markers like i was before i left.
keep up with the good info, its really helping me get back into things.

Well, the stereotypical scenario marker isn't used much in tourneys, and vice versa. Electro Cockers are all over tourney scene, most notably with the Naughty Dogs. For a scenario marker, people tend to like the A-5.
I'm not sure if it was out before you left or not, but AGD came out with the Level 10 bolt for Automags, something that completely does away with chops without relying on electronics.

For my days in Scenario play and woods I used my tippmann, timmy, or 1/2 AT-85's. Also a shocker or 3.
For tourny I used a mag, timmy, tippmann, and shocker.
Honestly I would use an AT gun anyday over the A5's, I shot those and in comparison AT's are seriously the most accurate gun in the market IMO. However, they are quite friggen long, so it's kinda impossible to use in a tourny, let alone most mechanical feed systems are illegal if they are not gravity fed.
Anyways, back to the discussion :P
thanks again for the info guys, lets keep it up :)

Warp Feed isn't gravity fed, but it isn't illegal. Halo B isn't illegal and it's not gravity fed. What do you mean?

All ATS guns feature a vertical chain feed system, and I heard warp feeds are illegal in some tourny's. I might be wrong but last I played all non gravity feed systems were illegal, this might have been changed after the warp feed system was released.

no, youre wrong.
the halo B isnt gravity fed, and thats tourney legal. Its also been on the market for way more than a year.

If I recall correctly, isn't there a body for the mags that puts backspin on the balls?
That's about all I can think of that hasn't been covered here(or I have missed it:( )
something nasty

Well, in the last year the market has started to have a lot of new, smaller markers come out. Two new angels (the Speed and 4) with another rumored to be comingout sometime in the near future, the new Shocker, the OTB Advent, and the new Matrix have all debuted. Another interesting development is the presence of an Anti-Chop Eye system on nearly ever marker on the market (above $400).
On a side note, my brother bought an At-85 from you a couple of years ago, and he is still loving it. Only problem is that is breaks a lot so he's ordering parts from ATS pretty often.

Ummm ICD is coming out with a new gun thats supposed to be smaller than both the B2K and the BKO.
Other than that and the stuff people already mentioned, there are all these new anti-chop 'Eye's' that are released, like PDS, Vision, SP, etc.

the ACE has been out for a while now.
also was the at-85 used? if so all he needs to do is replace the unisizer to the new version. who would have thought a universal size modification would solve the problem of breaks... crazy.
thanks so far for the info guys, its great :)
keep in mind I have played for a while as well, its just I haven't been into it since about march ish.

ohhhh, I see, he was talking about new styles of ACE's. I gotcha. Cool. I will have to check on the mag thing also.

The Z-Body for 'Mags works under the same principle that the hop up system for Airsoft guns works but it's not supposed to be very effective.

what do you mean by that? doesn't hop up just help with air conservation? or is that pressure also?
haven't looked into much about airsoft

Hop up puts a backspin on the pellet. In the Z-Body, I think it's accomplished with a little rubber nipple, kinda like the detent in Spyders.
