I am just about ready to buy this marker. This is the package I am getting most likely:
- MacDevRed Sonic LCD Bushmaster 2k2 (w/ sonic milling, sonic frame, sonic bolt [im waiting till it comes out])
- MacDev 68ci/4500psi Conquest 2k1 (Annodized to match)
- CP Micro DF (gonna send it in to em..and have them annoidze it to match)
- CP Barrel Kit, Freak barrel kit, or equation barrel kit (annodized to match)
help me decide on what barrel kit..the cps look dope but i dont want a 16" or 14".. and i wil lhave to extra places in the case
Do you think the sonic bushy is worth it? or just a regulator 2002 bushy tricked? (or a matrix :D ..nah i will prob get a matrix in a few months anyway)
Also what colors.. I used to want electric blue, then aqua..then burnt orange..now red.
here is what i think i want..from best to worst:
- MacDev Red
- Burnt Orange
- Aqua
- Electric Blue
- Steel Gray
(also have burgandy, lime, and forest green)
i think the red will look dope w/ a jt proline red jersey ..also i have a black vision and black spyder and i will prob sell the vision, but i will keep the spyder as backup and i could get it powdercoated red to black fade and i could use the barrel kits on it.. so.. help me decide what color...and i wnat ot hear your opinions on the sonic cause lots of ppl think its a good deal cause of all the sonic stuff..but they think they could build a better one for 990$ w/ all kinds of different parts from different comapnies.i gues i must love macdev
thx for teh opinions

Nice setup, but i'm not sure if i would go for a sonic, i'd like to upgrade my self. Should be a super good setup. About the barrels, they are cocker threaded, so don't worry, you an sell them

We talked about this before :)
If i did get a 2002 bushy..i woudl probably end up putting on all sonic parts..i love macdev, and i think that they make the best parts for the bushmaster.. and it would cost 500$ in sonic upgrades not including the anno or milling..so its a good deal, if you think macdev is the best, and i think they are :)

The rams leak more often then not, you don't need the LCD, milling is all preferance, the bolt is doubtfull to do jack ****, but the valve, reg, and frame are amoung the best

I haven't seen many rams leak..
You have to admit the milling is sweet, and way cooler than the 2002 milling..
LCD..yah i know.. but o well.. They don't sell it w/o..i could just get a new tray if i wanted to but its not that big of deal..it does have a shot counter and timer
Your right, the frame, valve, and reg are the best..
..but what about ..:
- Sonic LPR Kit
- Sonic High Efficiency Cup Seal
- Sonic High Rise (O-ring Technology)
- Sonic Air Reciever
- Sonic ASA
- Sonic Trigger
- Sonic Jewels (3)
- Battery Door
- MacDev Mini Gauge (0-700psi)
???
:D

i dunno if i'd be willing to pay more for
jewels, battery door, guage, and the like.
the only stuff worth it is the new trigger frame, red valve, sonic lpr and gladiator. the way i look at it, i've already got a reg, i'm getting the red valve and sonic lpr next week (FINALLY!), and right now i'm not sure if i'll get the sonic frame or ripper. but combined worth for all that stuff (to me).... a little less than $200. remember, that's not the msrp,m that's how much that stuff is worth to me, for instance, although the msrp for 3 jewels is $15, it's not worth anything to me :D.
i'm with richy, i like to upgrade myself.

I like upgrading sometimes too, Ive built a few cockers from scratch but custom guns have their advantages- no problems everytime you change something, everything tuned right, custom work you cant do yourself, it cost less in the long run, etc. Custom guns will work alot better than upgraded guns too unless you have all the tools and skills to make everything work right together. Thas why the Vapor mod is so good and he doesnt really upgrade with parts.
Im asking them to anodize a micro drop for me, Im pretty sure they can get some or already have them because they carry pretty much all off CPs stuff. CP or freak whatever you want, I like the CP better even if its more. The freak just has too much porting and I dont like the look. I dont know about the equation barrels, havent talked to anyone that has experience with them but all those pieces dont apeal to me. They have CPs there so less hassle for that and the freaks they might carry and I might pick one up if they do.
Pick your own color, whatever you think is the best, I like the pewter color though.
The sonic has alot of stuff that I would get on mine anyways- detent, LPR, valve, frame, reg, high rise, barrel, etc. Noone really knows about the bolt, they say they have something up there sleeve which is why they wont talk about it. IF you remember before their frames came out, thats all they talked about. WIth the bolt they wont tell you anyting besides its going to be nice so I dont think its going to be a waste. Plus if it was like every other bolt they could have them in production in less than a week. Its been quite a few months now.
The upgrades on the sonic not counting the bolt are $473. if you dont get black and silver your guns is going to be a bunch of different colors which is another $150+, vapor is $60 or you can try and do all that yourself and hope you dont screw up your gun. Cocker threading(good thing for me doesnt matter to others) $40. New bolt maybe $30-$50?
Custom guns are just better. Thats why the eclipse markers are so nice and have stock parts on most of their guns. Its the custom shop attention that males them so nice.

Well put. I think I will go w/ the CP Pro Kit.
I dont think i want teh whole thing..just the 3 bores and a 10" and 12" tip.. I know you got a 10", 12" and 14" right july? You got a case right?
So do you just have an empty spot wherre your 16" tip goes??

I bought a set before i got my sonic and I had another control bore before that. I think the only parts I got was a medium bore and the 10-12-14" tips to match. The set Im going to sell and keep the small and medium bore for myself. I also want to pick up the super small bore and the large bore once I start doing some tourneys. Ill probably keep the case, if they give you one with your order then there will be a hole there.

i agree with july on almost everything he said especially the part about custom guns. you cant go wrong there. i like the electric blue and the steel grey colors. i think the sonics are great. weve had a couple in our shop (red and blue) and i think the blue looks better because i also dont like red that much. they shoot awesome though. id say go with what you like especially with the barrel and the color. its all prefrence. i would choose the electric blue and freak anod. to mach! im jealous of you! you will be happy with that gun no matter what color you get! :P

Whoa that sounds like a sweet deal!! (as you may have noticed, I'm dreaming that I have a SteelGrey Sonic!!). But I got all excited and bought all the upgrades one by one, so now I can't afford it:( .
Maybe I can sell my ultr sweet bushy and get a Sonic?!?! I think it's cool to get the full deal, with all the milling and colour matching and stuff... :wink2:
Let me know how your red one is and I might have to join the club :agree: (man these smilies are cracking me up!!!!!)

I have to agree the sonic is a nice marker,
However, I would not use a sonic LPR. MacDev makes great products but time in and time out ive seen to many of the sonic LPR's not able to keep the FPS at anything better than a +/- 3.
However I admit that I am very picky about my crono speed. If I cant crono dead on at field speed. No ups or downs, I tend to want to fiddle with the marker untell I can.

Did you let it wear in? I know 5 guys with them that are rock solid (4 straight out of the pack and one took a couple of hundred rounds to settle in). You look at the gauge and the shot to shot consistancy is amazing! Give me good paint and I will give you 298, 298, 298 :D
