Expansion Chamber

Now that winter is coming, is an expansion chamber worth it, as it would not only prevent freezing, but also give me a more consistent velocity, or just stick with basic co2 and put a nylon sock over the tank? I'm leaning towards the expansion chamber, but want to know if its worth it. I would appreciate it if anyone that has played before in the winter could tell me what they use.
