You can use CO2, I did on mine. But unless you use anti-siphon, your gun will freeze up like a mother er. When I used CO2 on my dragunfly I could rip on the thing but I couldn't shoot too long because it would get too cold to hold. If you plan on using CO2 deffinatley get anti-siphon, but if you plan on shooting fast, the recharge rate isn't very good. It all depends on the type of paintball you play. Do you want to paintball with friends around your house and at the local field every so often? Go with CO2 w/ anti-siphon. But, if your trying to get serious and plan on shooting a lot, I'd go with compressed.

how does the dragunfly compare with like a 2k3 vertical cocker? is it pretty close? or will i get better bang for my bux with the cocker? and does the dragunfly come all ready and all i gotta do is air it up or do i have to time it? thx for the help

I would reccomend the cocker if your willing to spend the extra cash. I love my dragun, it came pre timed and everything, but it's not compatible with cocker parts. If you get the dragunfly, it should be good to gas up and go. However, if you have the extra money I would go with the WGP vertical feed, because of the part compatibility. One of the benefits of buying a cocker is the capability to use a huge amount of after market and replacement parts. But, with the dragunfly you lose that capability. The dragunfly is a great gun, but if you've go the money, I'd say spend up.

Also if you want a dragun marker you could get the drallion its compatible with all cocker parts and its $525.00 MSRP on the dragun website but you can most likely find it for less.:wink3:

it is really not recommended to use co2 with your dragun. Not only will it freeze after a while but the hoses will start to wear prematurely.

Also, the dragun is really accurate. I went to my local shop who never heard of the gun except from me and they said that it either shoots the same as a real cocker or even better. I would have to say the same. Ive used a normal cocker and seeing what the dragun can do there really isnt too much of a difference.

I believe that if you have the money go for the drallion. One regret i have with the dragunfly is that only the cocker bolts are interchangeable. Not that i need to change any thing with my gun :)

You can get the drallion for a little over $400 at www.custompbsolutions.com. However, you can get WGP vertical feeds cheaper, for around $330. You just have to look around. Custom Paintball Solutions also has the dragunfly for only $170, which is a really good deal. Also, paintintexan, I'm pretty sure cocker bolts don't fit in the dragunfly.

cocker bolts do fit because at my paintshop we tried some out because i wanted to see what fits and what doesnt. It only takes a little back block adjustment to make it fit. Even then it will work without the adjustment but it may not feed very well.

What brand is the cocker bolt, and what model. I wanna see if they have it at my local shop. But, is it any better than the stock bolt?

I really dont know what brand exactly but i think it was the shock tech one. It has a better flow on it so it should be more efficient. I for one am getting the new jam-bolt so i dont chop a single ball. Ever.

hey I just got a dragunfly mech and that thing can roll. but since the trigger was sticking I was getting slowed down but i found a solution. if you take of the trigger frame and put a few drops of oil on where the sear and the trigger meet in the top of the frame the trigger slides really nice. as for the jambolt let me know how it goes because my step-brother has one and it is awesome. i think im going to get one myself.

reccomend jam bolt upgrade... http://www.dragunempire.com/products_detail.php?id=16

other than that... the dragonfly lcd is AWESOME. ive touched and used guns 2x more expensive that really DIDNT satisfy the price difference. for the buck, its an awesome bang.

on another note... anyone not happy with the trigger? oh yeah... and what hoppers are you using... im thinking rico ak... halo is over rated and cracks too easy (ive seen 5 cracked from ball hits).

I use a revvy 12 volt w/ x board. It works fine for me. And if you buy it and it can't keep up, just buy a new impeller (paddle thing that spins) with more prongs. The only problem I had with my revvy is that the feed neck is too big, but that can be fixed with some sanding. You could go with a ricochet, which have o rings on the neck so you can adjust the size by swapping bigger or smaller rings (then you don't have to bother with sanding). But, im not sure if a rico ak feeds as fast as a revy w/ x board.

i actually like the trigger on the dragunfly. it feels like my shotgun, relatively short and crisp, but the only bad thing about it is that you can keep a steady stream of paint for a long time. And since i dont get a lot of funding for paintball im running a rico rino on my 'cocker. It feeds fast enough for the mech dragun. 10 balls a second or so. the only problem i have with it is that it constantly agitates so when im triing to sneek up on someone in the woods all you here is the freakin hopper running and it really does give me away. Any way with the bolt question again im getting the shocktech instead of the jam bolt now. At the time i answered the bolt question i was chopping alot but now the trigger is second nature to me so within a half a case of paint i didnt chop once which is good since ive only really used the thing twice. ive fired in my backyard here and there but only going to a field two times.

whats a good place to buy jam bolt?

and is Delrin better than nickel?

paintintexan
01-10-2004, 09:05 AM
http://apbbolts.com has the jam bolt at a reasonable price i think somewhere around 55 dollars or so.

Also the delrin will be better because it is self-lube so you will never have to lube it. it will increase the efficientcy on your gun since it will lower the friction of the bolt. The only thing is that you cant use normal oil with it. ANy patroneum based products and water will make the plastic expand making it get stuck in the gun. If you are not sure of whether you have the right oil just ask your local paintball gun dealer and they should be able to point you in the right direction or you can pick up white lithium grease but it must be white not black.

Nickle will only make your internals look better and we all know how important that is.

why dont you just go to a website that sells jam bolts for the mech? really any cocker bolt should fit, only some push-pins wont work if the hole is too little. With some back-block adjustment, any cocker bolt will fit.
